The Chapacans Collective offers a two-day clown workshop in Marseille aimed at both beginners and artists already engaged in live performance practice.
Led by Ugo Gasiglia and Louis Plesse, this collective workshop invites participants to explore a living, sensitive, and profoundly human clown. Rather than constructing a character, the facilitators propose revealing a unique presence through the body, listening, improvisation, and the relationship with the audience.
On the agenda:
body and energy warm-ups;
listening and group connection exercises;
physical and sensory practices;
solo, duo and trio improvisations;
work of addressing the public;
research around the gap, vulnerability and pleasure of play.
The course places great emphasis on availability, rhythm, joyful risk-taking, and the ability to transform unforeseen events and failures into opportunities in the game.
No prior experience is required: anyone curious to explore contemporary clowning is welcome.
