Give your child a week full of discovery, creativity, and artistic expression with the Circus & Theatre Workshop, organized from October 26 to 30, 2026, at the Sainte-Agnès Gymnasium in Chartres. Offered by Le Cirque en Équilibre, in partnership with Théâtre de la Transformation, this workshop is for children aged 6 to 12 who want to discover the performing arts in a supportive, fun, and stimulating environment.
For five full days, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and then from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the children alternate between circus and theater workshops, two complementary disciplines that promote both physical development and personal expression. Throughout the week, they discover new ways to move, create, communicate, and cooperate, developing their imagination, self-confidence, and ability to express themselves in front of others.
The circus workshops are led by Aurélien Falkowska, a circus artist, educator, and founder of Le Cirque en Équilibre. Since 2005, his company has been developing shows, workshops, training courses, artist residencies, and the Baudruche Festival in Chartres, while also carrying out significant arts education work with young audiences. Through a teaching approach tailored to each child, Aurélien guides participants in discovering the various circus disciplines, while fostering motor skills, coordination, balance, concentration, and teamwork.
The theatre workshops are led by Lydia Ervalho, an actress, improvisation teacher, and founder of Théâtre de la Transformation. Trained at the Cours Florent drama school, in clowning, masked theatre, musical theatre, and improvisation, Lydia offers an original approach blending theatrical techniques, personal development, and creative expression. Her background is further enriched by training in art therapy, coaching, and human support, which she brings to bear on a joyful, caring, and profoundly human pedagogy.
During this week, the children participate in numerous theatrical games, improvisation exercises, role-playing scenarios, physical and vocal expression games, as well as activities that promote listening, cooperation, spontaneity, imagination, and creativity. Theater becomes a powerful tool for learning to speak up, manage emotions, develop self-confidence, and dare to express themselves in front of a group.
The aim of this workshop is not performance but the joy of discovering, playing, creating, and progressing at one's own pace. No prior experience in theatre or circus arts is necessary. Beginners are welcome, as are children who have already participated in an artistic activity.
The course accommodates a maximum of 12 participants, allowing for individualized support and quality exchanges between the children and the instructors.
Lunch takes place on-site. Children can stay in the gymnasium between noon and 2 p.m. by bringing a cold lunch, a bottle of water, and their own cutlery. During this lunch break, the staff organizes quiet time and board games, allowing children to relax before resuming afternoon activities in the best possible conditions.
To participate, it is advisable to bring comfortable and flexible clothing, suitable for physical activities, as well as clean sneakers reserved for indoor use, or non-slip slippers or socks.
The cost of the internship is set at €175 for the full week.
Registration is open subject to availability. Given the limited number of participants, early booking is advised.
In case of cancellation, a full refund is possible upon written request sent by email to lecirqueenequilibre@gmail.com, up to two weeks before the start of the workshop. After this deadline, no refund will be granted.
