At the crossroads of contemporary circus, high-level acrobatics, and physical theatre, Kontact is a creation by Compagnie Puéril Péril that energetically celebrates human connection, trust, and the joy of being together. Presented at the Cirque Jules Verne – Pôle National Cirque et Arts de la Rue d'Amiens on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 7:30 p.m., this 50-minute show for all ages brings together six acrobats who defy gravity without apparatus or a net in a series of spectacular lifts where every movement is based on absolute trust.
True to their motto, "To soar without peril is to fall without glory," Réhane Arabi, Léo Didier, Braian Agustin Fernandez, Dorian Lechaux, Patricia Minder, and Barbara Lartigau constantly push their limits. Here, there is no artifice: everything is real, tangible, and profoundly human. The artists construct dizzying human columns, launch themselves into the air, and find a fragile balance where the slightest mistake could tip everything over. Height becomes a playground, gravity a stage partner, and each performance testifies to an impressive technical mastery combined with total mutual trust.
Structured like a playful classified ad, the show invites the audience to participate in this collective adventure: “Six acrobats without apparatus or net seek an audience for a high-flying performance. A strong affinity for gravity-defying circus would be a plus. Trust is essential and therefore abundantly given. Expect genuine and unique encounters; misanthropes need not apply.” Behind this humorous premise lies a sensitive reflection on fragility, solidarity, risk-taking, encounters, and the joy of sharing a moment together.
Humor plays a vital role throughout Kontact. Comical situations follow acrobatic feats, the performers play with the audience's expectations, and create a warm atmosphere where virtuosity never overshadows generosity. The show alternates between tension, bursts of laughter, poetry, and moments of suspended time, revealing the beauty of human relationships built on trust.
The production is directed by Dorian Lechaux, who also performs in the show. The original music is composed and performed by Maler and Heeka, while the voice-over is provided by Guillaume Orsat. The costumes were designed by Maïté Chantrel, the lighting by Sébastien Marc, and the stage management by Thibaut Champagne. Production, administration, and outside perspectives are handled by Manon Briens and Emmanuelle Nonet. The physical exploration benefited from the work of Joël Azou, Ronan Duée, Chloé Frappat, Marion Hergas, Xavier Mermod, Rachel Salzman, and Marilou Verschelden.
Created in 2024, Kontact is a production of Compagnie Puéril Péril, co-produced by La Machinerie in Vénissieux, Le Quai des Arts in Rumilly, Les Fondus du Macadam in Thonon-les-Bains, the Centre Culturel de La Ricamarie, the Théâtre du Bordeau in Saint-Genis-Pouilly, La Cascade – Pôle National Cirque in Bourg-Saint-Andéol, the Festival des 7 Collines in Saint-Étienne, and the Groupe des 20 – Scènes publiques Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The show was also developed in residence at the École de Cirque de Lyon, the Théâtre du Vellein, L'Échappé in Sorbiers, the Théâtre de Roanne, L'Ilyade in Seyssinet-Pariset, and LeZartiCirque – École de Cirque de Sainte-Croix in Switzerland. It benefits from the support of the DRAC, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and the Loire Department.
With its breathtaking acrobatics, infectious humor, collective energy, and profound message of humanity, Kontact offers a contemporary circus experience where technical prowess serves connection. A luminous, generous, and accessible show for all, reminding us that the most beautiful balances are often those we build together.
