Beyond the Horizon is a creation by Compagnie La Migration that invites the public to experience a performance where aerial circus, live music, and landscape converge in a single breath. Presented at the Jardin du Chapiteau as part of ET HOP! – Act 1 of the 2026-2027 season at Le Plongeoir – Pôle National Cirque Le Mans, this free 30-minute show offers a truly poetic interlude under the open sky.
At the heart of this creation stands an impressive metal structure: an immense two-bladed wind turbine, a veritable kinetic apparatus inspired by both the kinetic sculptures of Alexander Calder and the monumental works of Jean Clareboudt. Suspended several meters above the ground, the acrobat Quynh Claude moves on this spectacular machine, which rotates slowly under the effect of its own weight. Each movement alters the structure's balance, giving rise to an aerial dance where gravity, emptiness, risk, and lightness become the true partners in the performance.
Beyond the Horizon cultivates the pure pleasure of movement. Written according to a circular dramaturgy, the piece explores notions of gravity, balance, and vertigo while revealing the beauty of the laws of physics. The acrobat engages in a dialogue with space, plays with perpetual imbalance, and transforms each rotation of the wind turbine into a suspended choreography where the body seems to float between heaven and earth.
The performance is accompanied live by musician and composer Jean-Christophe Feldhandler, whose sound design plays an integral role in the immersive experience. His score navigates between soundscapes reminiscent of the atmosphere of Blade Runner, a piano inspired by the sensitive world of Ryuichi Sakamoto, and powerful, earthy percussion. The music doesn't simply accompany the acrobatics; it engages in a dialogue with them, amplifies the sensations, and, together with the performer's movements, creates a truly sensory journey.
The show is the result of a significant collaborative effort involving numerous artists and technicians. Quynh Claude wrote the script and performs the acrobatic elements. The original music was composed and performed live by Jean-Christophe Feldhandler. The impressive set design was built by Michel Claude, who also collaborated on its creation with Mécanique KP. The costumes were designed by Clémentine Monsaingeon, while the choreography was overseen by Clara Cornil and David Subal. The sound design was created by Arnaud Rollat, the stage management by Maxime Collier, and the production and distribution were handled by Hugo Claude.
Created in 2026, this work is the result of numerous artistic residencies conducted throughout France, notably at Moulin des Roches, Zaccros d'ma Rue, Château de Monthelon, La Transverse, Le Plongeoir, La Cascade, and La Cité des Paysages in Meurthe-et-Moselle. The project also benefits from the support of Scènes du Jura, Vellein, Cirq'ônflex, the Ministry of Culture (DRAC Bourgogne–Franche-Comté), the Bourgogne–Franche-Comté Regional Council, the Côte-d'Or Department, and the City of Dijon.
The audience at Le Plongeoir already had the opportunity to discover a first stage of work during a meeting with the artists organized in April 2026. This presentation now marks the culmination of this artistic research and allows us to discover the final version of the show.

This first part of the season invites the public to extend the warmth of summer with five shows offered under the big top, in the heart of the city and in the Sablons – Bords de l'Huisne district. The program is conceived as a celebration of contemporary circus, encounters, and wonder.
Accessible to all audiences, free and without reservation, Beyond the Horizon offers a contemplative and spectacular experience where aerial acrobatics, live music and the landscape interact to offer a suspended moment, at once vertigo-inducing, sensitive and profoundly poetic.
