Immerse yourself in a unique experience where the clown becomes much more than a stage character: a true revealer of self. With "In the Mirror of the Other, It's Me!", Nicolas Cornut, founder of Miroir du Clown, offers a therapeutic clowning workshop that invites everyone to explore their personality, overcome their blockages, and rediscover the joy of play through a profoundly human and caring approach.

This two-day immersion workshop is for anyone who wants to get to know themselves better, develop their creativity, or bring more fluidity to their clowning practice. Whether you're a complete beginner or already experienced, no prior theatrical knowledge is required: the work focuses not on artistic performance but on the authenticity of encountering oneself and others.

The clown engages the whole being. When expressed freely, it evokes a feeling of jubilation, presence, and freedom. But sometimes something resists: the performance freezes, emotions remain suppressed, certain situations repeat themselves without explanation. Technical tools alone are then no longer enough to overcome these obstacles.

This is precisely where this workshop comes in. Through the principle of "the mirror of the other," Nicolas Cornut invites participants to observe what their relationships reveal about themselves. Our reactions, fears, impulses, and resistances become all subjects to explore. The clown then acts as a catalyst, revealing the deepest parts of our personality, sometimes difficult to identify but which nevertheless influence how we play, communicate, and relate to others.

Each participant is guided through a process of personal transformation where clown improvisations alternate with periods of sharing, listening, and exploration. The group provides a safe space where everyone can experiment without judgment, embrace their emotions, let their imagination emerge, and discover new ways of being present to themselves and others.

The workshop begins with individual interviews, allowing each participant to define the personal issue or theme they wish to explore. Throughout the two days, physical and relational exercises, as well as improvisations, are offered to illuminate the unconscious mechanisms that sometimes limit spontaneity or creativity. Nicolas Cornut guides each participant with sensitivity, opening up new possibilities for play and connection.

This original approach is inspired by Gestalt therapy, a form of psychotherapy centered on lived experience in the present moment. Clowning thus becomes a powerful tool for personal development: it allows one to observe their habits, experiment with different behaviors, rediscover lightness, and reconnect with their natural creative impulse.

The workshop is intentionally organized in small groups of 6 to 12 participants, in order to guarantee quality support and to allow each person to benefit from a real space for expression.

Organised at ADAT – Espace Bréguet, in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, this 14-hour workshop takes place from Monday, October 5, 2026 at 9 a.m. to Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. The days alternate between exercises, individual explorations, role-playing and sharing time in a respectful, warm and confidential atmosphere.

The workshop is open to all levels and requires no prior artistic experience. It is accessible to those completely new to clowning as well as to artists wishing to deepen their practice. However, this workshop is intended for individuals committed to a genuine process of personal exploration; it is not psychotherapy but rather a personal development approach using clowning as a tool.

The training is conducted in French, is non-residential, and is not eligible for any financial assistance. The fee is €320 including VAT for individuals (€430 for institutions).

Through "In the Mirror of the Other, It's Me!", Nicolas Cornut offers a sensitive encounter between clowning and self-discovery, where humor, emotion, vulnerability, and creativity become pathways to greater inner freedom. This workshop is designed for those who wish to overcome their inhibitions, enrich their clowning practice, or simply experience a profound human connection in a supportive and stimulating environment.
