From September 15 to 20, 2026, the Les Préambulations Festival will once again transform the streets, squares, and public spaces of Bagneux into a vast playground for artistic creation. Organized by Le Plus Petit Cirque du Monde (PPCM), this entirely free event invites residents, families, and visitors to experience a week of discovery, encounters, and artistic experiences in the heart of the city.

Created in 2018, the festival has become a key event in the cultural season in Bagneux. Each year, it takes the arts out of their usual venues and into public spaces, offering a new way to discover the city. Contemporary circus, dance, theatre, music, performances, street art, and participatory creations blend into the urban landscape to offer an artistic journey accessible to everyone.

The Préambulations also serve as a prelude to the Bagneux Grape Harvest Festival, organized a week later by the City. This proximity allows the cultural season to launch in a festive and convivial atmosphere, while showcasing the urban and human heritage of the town.

For this 2026 edition, the festival will host two artistic teams who will take over different districts of Bagneux.

Compagnie Jupon will present creations where the body, movement, and urban space engage in dialogue with the audience, while the artists of the 2GAITHER project will develop a series of performances blending circus and music, creating moments of sharing between artistic disciplines, generations, and local residents. The festival thus continues its commitment to fostering encounters and making contemporary creation accessible to all audiences.

Throughout these six days, spectators will be able to discover a varied program consisting of:

contemporary circus shows;
artistic performances;
urban hikes;
participatory workshops;
meetings with the artists.

Each proposal is designed to integrate into its environment and invite participants to see the streets, squares, buildings, and landscapes of Bagneux in a new light. The artworks are not simply displayed in public spaces; they engage in a dialogue with the space and with the people who inhabit it.

The entire festival takes place outdoors, in different neighborhoods of Bagneux, with its hub being Le Plus Petit Cirque du Monde (The Smallest Circus in the World), located on Impasse de la Renardière. The shows and events then spread throughout the city to connect with residents and create a genuine, community-based artistic dynamic.

The detailed program for this edition will be unveiled soon, but the poster already announces a week full of discoveries, original creations and artistic experiences open to all.

The Smallest Circus in the World: a unique place dedicated to circus arts

The Smallest Circus in the World (PPCM) is today one of the major players in circus arts in Île-de-France. Based in Bagneux, it has been developing for over thirty years an artistic, cultural, educational and social project that goes far beyond the framework of a simple circus school.

The PPCM hosts resident companies throughout the year, supports the creation of new shows, and offers a regular program of performances, meetings, and cultural events. Its contemporary building, inaugurated in 2015, has become a true cultural landmark in southern Paris.

The association also develops an important transmission activity with circus classes for children, teenagers and adults, internships, professional training, school projects, actions with social and medico-educational structures as well as numerous workshops for residents.

The PPCM is finally carrying out recognized work around the links between arts, architecture, heritage, urbanism and social innovation, making the circus a formidable tool for meeting, collective creation and transforming the way we look at the city.

The Les Préambulations festival perfectly illustrates this philosophy: to take artists out of performance venues, to occupy public space and to allow everyone to experience circus, dance, theatre and performance as close as possible to their daily life.

Completely free and open to all ages and audiences, the Les Préambulations Festival is an invitation to rediscover Bagneux in a new light, through contemporary creations, artistic encounters, and the surprises that await around every corner. A week where the city becomes a stage, where residents become spectators or participants, and where the performing arts take center stage in the public space.
