During the summer holidays of 2026, the Asphyxie association is offering a new series of circus workshops in Blanquefort (Gironde), specially designed for children aged 1 to 12. Led by a team of passionate professionals, these workshops offer a fun immersion into the world of circus arts, emphasizing discovery, progress, and the joy of practicing in a safe and supportive environment.
Several options are available to suit everyone's age and interests. Toddlers aged 1 to 3 can participate in Baby Circus, a parent-child workshop that promotes motor skills development, confidence, and bonding through motor skills courses, games, balance exercises, adapted acrobatics, and an initial introduction to juggling equipment.
Children aged 4 to 6 discover the basics of circus arts through workshops combining juggling, balance, acrobatics, and physical expression. Older children, aged 6 to 12, delve deeper into these different disciplines and can also participate in a day dedicated to Circus and Mini-Trapeze Discovery, an introduction to aerial disciplines using a freestanding trapeze that requires no fixed anchor point.
Throughout the workshops, participants experiment with numerous circus disciplines:
juggling with balls, scarves, clubs, rings, diabolos, devil sticks, Chinese plates or even hats;
balancing on objects with ball, balance wire, American roller, pedal go-karts and unicycle;
acrobatics on the ground, rolls, cartwheels, hand balances, human pyramids and acrobatic lifts on adapted mats;
clowning and body expression, allowing the development of imagination, creativity and stage presence;
The mini trapeze, to discover the first aerial sensations in complete safety thanks to equipment specially designed for initiation.
The final summer session will take place from August 25th to 27th, 2026 at the Salle du Maurian in Blanquefort. Groups are intentionally limited to a maximum of 10 to 12 participants to ensure personalized guidance. Workshops are open to participants with a minimum of 6 registrations.
Participants are welcomed 15 minutes before the start of the sessions. Comfortable clothing and clean socks are requested to ensure optimal conditions. Days marked with an asterisk do not include lunch.
Prices remain affordable with several options depending on membership status. Baby Circus is offered from €10 for members, while Circus Discovery workshops are available from €25 per day. Mini-Trapeze days start at €30 for members. An annual membership fee of €10 is required at the first workshop (already included in the non-member price). Payments can be made by credit card, cash, check, or ANCV holiday vouchers.
These courses provide an excellent opportunity for children to develop their motor skills, coordination, balance, creativity and self-confidence while discovering the richness of circus arts in a friendly, dynamic atmosphere adapted to each age.
