During the All Saints' Day holidays of 2026, the Ballabulle Circus School in Biarritz is offering two weeks of workshops for children and teenagers: from October 19 to 23 and then from October 26 to 30, 2026. Juggling, diabolo, devil stick, acrobatics, object balancing, unicycle, trapeze and aerial silks are part of a program adapted to the age of the participants, with a playful approach for 4-6 year olds and a more developed multidisciplinary teaching from 7 years old.
🎪 Based in Biarritz since 2004, Ballabulle is a non-profit circus school whose educational program combines physical practice, artistic expression, and personal development. The school is accredited by the French Federation of Circus Schools, the Departmental Directorate of Youth and Popular Education, and belongs to the Regional Federation of Circus Schools of Aquitaine.
The school promotes a vision of circus arts that goes beyond simply learning technical skills. Motor skills, creativity, expression, socialization, tolerance, responsibility, and pushing personal limits are among the dimensions developed through the workshops. Activities can be done individually, in pairs, or in groups, and are approached in a playful spirit.
👧 For children aged 4 to 6, the workshops are designed as a first introduction to circus arts. Two one-hour sessions are offered daily, from 10am to 11am and from 11am to 12pm.
The young participants progress through psychomotor activities that allow them to work on movement, balance, and coordination. Object manipulation is gradually introduced, using scarves, juggling balls, and spinning plates.
Floor acrobatics and mini-trampoline complement this discovery. The organization into small, rotating workshops allows for a variety of experiences and adapts the activities to the children's ages.
🤹 From age 7 up to teenagers, the sessions become longer and more technical. Participants practice every afternoon from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with a multidisciplinary program allowing them to discover several major branches of circus arts.
Juggling plays a significant role. Ballabulle announces the manipulation of scarves and balls, but also two disciplines of particular interest to the NetJuggler Agenda: diabolo and devil stick.
🤸 Body work involves floor acrobatics and small lifts, while participants can also experience different balance disciplines.
The program is particularly varied in this area: reel, balance ball, American roller, low wire and unicycle allow you to discover very different sensations and techniques.
🎪 Aerial arts complement this multidisciplinary training with an introduction to the trapeze and aerial silks. Ballabulle also offers a "Special Aerials" track in its course offerings, primarily dedicated to these two apparatuses.
Organizing the children by age group allows for the evolution of educational objectives: for the youngest children, circus arts primarily serve as a vehicle for motor skills, play, and exploration; for older children and teenagers, the practice gradually becomes a tool for learning, perseverance, and self-affirmation. This progression aligns with the educational project developed by the school during its annual courses.
The workshops take place directly at the Ballabulle Circus School premises, located at 25 allée du Moura in Biarritz, very close to the SNCF train station. The facility has all the necessary equipment for the different disciplines: mats, aerial apparatus, juggling equipment and balance equipment.
