During the 2026 All Saints' Day school holidays, the Cirqu'Onflexe circus school in Amiens is offering two weeks of workshops to discover and develop circus arts. From October 19th to 23rd and then from October 26th to 30th, children and teenagers can experience juggling, acrobatics, balance, trapeze, aerial disciplines, partner acrobatics, and object manipulation in a large space entirely dedicated to circus arts. Activities are organized by age group, from Baby Circus for 2-3 year olds accompanied by an adult to intensive workshops for 10-17 year olds.
🎪 Cirqu'Onflexe is a non-profit circus school located in Amiens, at 495 rue d'Abbeville. Accredited by the French Federation of Circus Schools (FFEC), it welcomes more than 430 students each week, from early childhood to adulthood, and develops educational, artistic and inclusive projects benefiting nearly 25,000 people each year.
The school boasts a particularly large space for its activities: 904 m² of premises, 740 m² of which are entirely dedicated to circus arts. This layout allows for the simultaneous offering of different activities and provides access to a wide variety of equipment. Workshops are led by qualified circus arts instructors and/or professional artists.
The teaching approach deliberately evolves with the age of the participants.
👶 For 2-3 year olds, Baby Circus offers a first encounter with the circus world. Each child participates with a parent or other accompanying adult. Rather than immediately learning tricks, toddlers explore the equipment, play with their bodies, move around, and gradually discover their motor skills through exercises led by the instructor. A "spectator school" component also allows them to observe the performers and become familiar with the world of the circus.
🎈 For 4-6 year olds, play remains central to learning, but children begin to gain independence. Psychomotor activities and object manipulation allow them to walk, run, jump, roll, slide, manipulate, and experiment in a safe environment. Circus equipment gradually becomes familiar, and exercises help develop coordination, balance, and self-confidence.
🤹 From age 7, the practice becomes more technical. Children move from one circus family to another and experience roles such as acrobat, juggler, tightrope walker, and trapeze artist. The goal is no longer just discovery: each child also tries to progress with each session.
Cirqu'Onflexe also offers customized workshops, particularly suited to children or families who don't necessarily want to commit to five days. This option allows participants to choose one, two, three days or more and explore different disciplines according to their interests: aerial arts, juggling, acrobatics, partner acrobatics, and object balancing.
🎭 For 10-17 year olds, the immersion becomes much more intensive with full circus days from 10am to 5pm. After experiencing several different disciplines, the young people are gradually invited to choose one or two techniques in which they wish to specialize. This allows them to dedicate more time to their practice and develop a more personal style.
Artistic creation plays a significant role in the workshops. For 7-9 year olds and 10-17 year olds, the week may conclude with a performance or artistic presentation on Friday afternoon for their families. The young people therefore don't just work on isolated techniques; they also learn to organize and present them to an audience.
The groups remain supervised: Cirqu'Onflexe announces a maximum of 12 children per instructor, with the supervision team doubling for groups of 13 or more. Baby Circus, however, is limited to 10 children, each accompanied by an adult.
To participate, the school recommends comfortable clothing such as jogging pants or leggings and a t-shirt, as well as a small bottle of water. Parental presence during sessions is generally not desired, except for Baby Circus and times specifically scheduled with families.
