Viky Versari, the Clockwork Orange of the new circus

Viky Versari, the Clockwork Orange of the new circus

An orange ball rolls on the ground: it belongs to Viky Versari , 34, juggler, antipodist and clown. From Geneva to Toulouse, her "orange balls" have followed her to circus schools, tracing a nomadic path where technique already blends with the quest for a unique voice.

The art of constraint

"How do the techniques of juggling and antipodism change the way I move and feel?"
Viky Versari

For Viky , virtuosity is born from constraint : they impose limits on themselves—juggling with their feet, off-balance, upside down—to force invention and reveal the poetry of thwarted gestures. This technical constraint becomes a creative engine rather than a mere performance.

The research is not merely formal. The young person devours clowning techniques in order to tame fragility and the grotesque: a perfect counterpoint to the rigor of juggling. The clown, they say, offers the freedom to experiment with unconventional behaviors and make them acceptable to the public.

Next Door: Quarrels and Neighborhoods

A Côté (created in 2025)

Created with actress Daniela Marzolo, A Côté condenses Viky's approach: scenic minimalism and visual comedy in service of a social issue.

  • A game board depicting two adjoining houses
  • Characters: Elvira, a respectable middle-class woman; Padok, an intrusive neighbor
  • Visual gags: feather fight, spilled coffee, opposition even in the color of socks
  • Theme: How to tolerate difference without ending up "killing each other"?

The play delights children with its gags and challenges adults with its portrayal of living together.

The Final Struggle: When wrestling becomes social satire

The next creation announced for 2027, The Final Struggle transposes wrestling into a political fable: on an octagonal ring, a genderless giant, a nervous gremlin and a presenter thirsty for chaos replay the codes — crowd screams, cartoonish stunts, admitted cheating — to highlight the brutality of power relations.

"A giant, atypical, impressive but who doesn't know how to fight"
Description of the trio

The trio, caricatured to the extreme, pits brute force against cunning; little by little, the farce transforms into a biting satire of the class struggle. The audience laughs, complicit, as one is used to attack another .

His commitment - To inspire the next generation

This blend of circus arts and social commentary explains Viky's particular resonance with younger generations. Her workshops, often offered at affordable prices , invite aspiring clowns and juggling enthusiasts to explore their own unique quirkiness and transform their limitations into a creative force. Viky demystifies performance: technical prowess serves the narrative, the audience's perspective, and the shared laughter.

Workshop accessibility

The workshops promote diversity among participants and offer tiered pricing. The goal: to make learning circus arts accessible and inclusive, without making technique the sole focus.
