Circusatelier 't Sirk is a Flemish circus school located in Mol and Retie , in the province of Antwerp. It develops a large range of weekly courses for children, teenagers and adults, complemented by workshops , shows , open training and outdoor workshops .

The school's philosophy is based on an accessible and non-competitive approach to circus arts. Circus is considered both as a way to move , to push oneself beyond one's limits and to develop strength , concentration and creativity , but also as a collective activity where the pleasure of practicing together remains essential.

Discovery from kindergarten onwards

The discovery can begin as early as kindergarten . Kleutercircus classes allow young children to approach their first circus techniques while developing their motor , social and creative skills.

In Retie , parent-child classes also allow young children to discover the circus accompanied by a parent or grandparent.

These sessions notably use playful acrobatic exercises to develop body awareness , balance , hand-eye coordination and self-confidence .

The multi-circus: a general basis

As children grow up, they can integrate into the different levels of multicircus.

The Multi 1 , Multi 2 , and Multi 3 groups allow for a progression adapted to the school age. Students discover numerous disciplines and begin with the fundamentals before gradually tackling more complex figures.

Multicircus provides a solid foundation . It allows one to become a versatile practitioner but also to discover their favorite disciplines before potentially joining a specialized course.

From age 12 , Multi+ allows participants to continue this approach. The course is open to both young people with prior experience and complete beginners.

At this level, the technique continues to be developed, but creativity also takes up more space.

Specializations

Beyond the multi-circus, 't Sirk offers several specialized courses.

  • Juggling : learning and perfecting the manipulation of different objects, including balls , clubs and cigar boxes .
  • Kegelvolley (volleyball with juggling clubs): module offered to students who already know how to juggle with three clubs.
  • Unicycle : a beginner course to learn how to ride and move, then on the spot, jumps and different tricks.
  • Unicycle basketball : a collective exploration combining movement, mastery of the device and teamwork.
  • Balance : specialized course complementing the techniques covered in the multidisciplinary sessions.
  • Acrobatics : beginner classes in duos and trios, advanced level, and classes dedicated to group towers and constructions. The group setting allows for the development of technique, body control, confidence, communication, and cooperation.

More independent practitioners then have specific unicycle training allowing them to work on their own tricks with the help of an instructor and other unicyclists.

Aerial disciplines

Aerial disciplines constitute one of the most structured courses at 't Sirk.

Participants can start from around age 9 and discover, among other things, the trapeze and aerial silks . The classes simultaneously develop technique , strength , and flexibility .

  1. A true progression is organised between beginners , advanced and experts .
  2. After acquiring the fundamental figures, students learn to better use their body and strength, to work on movements with greater fluidity and to approach more complex techniques.
  3. The expert level goes even further with more spectacular figures, teamwork in the air and an increasing focus on finishing and creation .

Access to advanced and expert levels depends on technical developments and teacher feedback , which helps maintain a progression adapted to the safety and abilities of each individual.

Adults also have access to a specific aerial acrobatics course in Retie. Complete beginners as well as experienced practitioners can work on trapeze and silks .

Additional modules

Additional modules are regularly introduced to explore other dimensions of the circus.

A creative workshop, for example, offers the opportunity to work on how to present a technique in front of an audience.

Clowning , body language , rhythm , relationship with the public and the creation of small individual or group acts allow one to move from the simple execution of a figure to a true stage performance .

Shows, open training sessions and workshops

This artistic dimension is also found in the shows organized by 't Sirk.

In March 2026 , the school notably presented three performances of its annual show at 't Getouw de Mol , with the participation of the different groups of students.

More independent practitioners also have access to open training sessions. These sessions allow older members to continue their practice and research outside of regular classes.

Summer internships 2026

During the summer of 2026 , 't Sirk organized, for example, a multi-circus camp for 6-12 year olds and a camp specifically dedicated to aerial acrobatics from 9 years old .

  • The multi-circus workshop combines juggling, flowerstick, rola-bola, diabolo, balancing barrel and various other techniques.
  • The aerial course focuses mainly on trapeze and silks while alternating with slackline, juggling, creation, diabolo, acrobatics, flowerstick and balance.

Each workshop concludes with a presentation for families, reinforcing the link between technical learning and stage experience.

Outdoor workshops

't Sirk also works outside of its school with workshops tailored to schools, events, parties, camps and groups.

These activities allow you to discover, among other things, ball and barrel walking, unicycle , rola-bola , tightrope walking , Chinese plates , flowerstick , diabolo , juggling and acrobatics .

The workshops can be fully supervised by a teacher or take the form of a discovery space where several techniques are made available to the public.

A complete journey

With its multidisciplinary teaching, its many specializations, its particularly developed aerial course, its courses in acrobatics, juggling and unicycle, its workshops, shows and free training, Circusatelier 't Sirk now offers a true path for amateur practice of circus arts .

Its simultaneous presence in Mol and Retie also allows us to offer a regular service in two municipalities and to support practitioners from their first discoveries in kindergarten to advanced , creative or adult practice.
