Acrodemo Circus

Acrodemo Cirque is a non-profit, itinerant circus school based in the Gironde region , primarily in Carignan-de-Bordeaux and Lignan-de-Bordeaux . Founded in 2011 , the association aims to introduce and teach circus arts to a wide audience, from children as young as 4 to adults.

The project is driven by a family passionate about performance and circus arts. Jessy Latrille began circus arts at a very young age and grew up immersed in this world before becoming an artist and entertainer. Muriel Latrille, for her part, has over thirty years of experience as a dancer and clown. Together, they share their expertise through Acrodemo's classes, workshops, school programs, and performances.

The school emphasizes a particularly important mobile approach. Its goal is to reach out to practitioners, especially in rural communities and schools, rather than concentrating all its activities in a single location. Weekly classes are currently offered in Carignan-de-Bordeaux and Lignan-de-Bordeaux .

Subjects taught

The teaching is multidisciplinary and allows students to discover a large number of circus techniques.

  • Juggling: balls, rings, scarves, diabolos, Chinese plates, devil sticks, cigar boxes and bolas.
  • Balancing on objects: stilts, pedals, balance ball and American roller (rolla-bolla).
  • Other activities: mini-trampoline, ground acrobatics, lifts and human pyramids, double dutch jump rope.

This diversity allows children to discover several families of circus arts before developing their preferences and skills.

Emphasis is placed on technical learning, motor skills , balance , coordination and the pleasure of practicing collectively.

2026-2027 Season

For the 2026-2027 season, Acrodemo offers regular classes starting from age 4.

  • Lignan-de-Bordeaux: The Little Foxes (4 to 5 years old) practice on Mondays from 5pm to 5:45pm .
  • Lignan-de-Bordeaux: The Cassiopée group (ages 6 to 10) meets on Mondays from 6pm to 7:30pm .

In Carignan-de-Bordeaux , several groups are divided into groups throughout the week. Children aged 6 to 10 have several time slots available, while an Elite group benefits from a two-hour training session on Wednesdays. Teenagers have their own class on Fridays, and adults can practice for two hours on the same evening.

Internships

Workshops are another important aspect of the project. Acrodemo offers a two-day workshop during the first week of each school holiday period, except for Christmas. During the summer, longer workshops combine the discovery of different disciplines with the preparation of a performance.

  • These courses are open to all levels from age 6 , including children who do not attend regular classes.
  • Varied offering: juggling, balancing on objects, mini-trampoline, acrobatics, lifts and double dutch .
  • At the end of the summer camps, the children prepare a show highlighting the learning they have done during the week.

School interventions

Acrodemo also develops a significant activity in schools. The school is accredited by the French Ministry of Education and offers introductory circus arts courses led by a qualified instructor with a BPJEPS Circus qualification.

  • The interventions allow students to practice juggling with balls, rings, scarves, diabolos or Chinese plates.
  • Balancing acts on objects are performed using stilts, pedals, a ball and an American roller.
  • Mini-trampoline, acrobatics and lifts or pyramids complete the sessions.

The school programs are structured around a minimum of seven sessions and may culminate in a performance presented by the children. The school prioritizes hosting only one class per session to ensure safe and productive learning conditions, with the active participation of the teacher.

This school activity is truly established in the area. In Lignan-de-Bordeaux , for example, the four classes of the municipal school participated in a circus project combining juggling, balance, acrobatics and lifts, with a presentation intended for families.

The troupe

Acrodemo also has a troupe bringing together passionate children, teenagers, and adults. They develop work in particular around human pyramids and hand balances.

  • Proposed package: one hour of circus discovery with children + a demonstration of approximately thirty minutes.
  • This activity combines teaching and performance during demonstrations and events.

Family transmission thus constitutes an important component of the structure's identity.

Acrodemo Cirque ultimately distinguishes itself through its mobile approach and its commitment to reaching out to audiences. Regular classes, workshops, school programs, activities, and shows are designed as different ways to introduce people to the circus arts.

From the first manipulation of a scarf or a ball to human pyramids, from diabolo to rolla-bolla, from stilts to mini-trampolines, the school offers a particularly diverse range of activities. Its locations in Carignan-de-Bordeaux and Lignan-de-Bordeaux , combined with its work in schools, make it a key local player in circus arts in the Coteaux Bordelais region.
