ArtScéniK – École de Cirque du Chablais is a Swiss circus school located in Monthey since 2004. Recognized by the Swiss Federation of Circus Schools, it offers weekly classes for children from age 3, teenagers, and adults. Juggling, acrobatics, balance, trapeze, and aerial silks are taught in an inclusive, non-competitive approach that emphasizes artistic expression, individual progress, and the joy of practicing together.
ArtScéniK – École de Cirque du Chablais is a circus arts teaching structure located in Monthey , in the canton of Valais, since 2004. It welcomes students from the Valais and Vaud Chablais region, in an environment dedicated to discovery, learning and circus creation.
Recognized by the FSEC, ArtScéniK promotes a vision of the circus as a true school of life. Its pedagogy is based on inclusion , equal opportunities , consideration of individual differences, and the absence of a competitive spirit .
The teaching is aimed at a particularly wide audience, from 3-year-old children to adults .
The youngest children discover the circus through circus-related activities and sensory awareness. Movement games, object manipulation, body awareness, and initial balance exercises help develop coordination, imagination, and self-confidence.
From the age of 5 , children gradually approach the four main families of circus arts: juggling , balance , acrobatics and aerial disciplines .
The courses are organized by age groups in order to adapt the exercises and educational objectives to the development of each participant.
Between the ages of 7 and 11 , students deepen their technical knowledge, develop their coordination and gradually learn to build sequences.
From the age of 12 , teaching places greater emphasis on autonomy, personal expression, and artistic exploration. Young people work particularly on fluid sequences, group acrobatics, and the creation of original routines.
ArtScéniK also offers courses specifically designed for adults , particularly in juggling, balance and aerial disciplines.
One of the school's distinctive features is its Creation group, designed for particularly motivated young people who are already following a regular course of study.
This additional course allows students to deepen their circus techniques while developing a genuine artistic approach.
Participants gradually work towards designing an individual or duo act of approximately five minutes . They learn to construct their stage proposal, develop their own artistic language, and document their progress in a technical logbook.
Additional weekends of training and creation complement the weekly classes.
This organization allows for continuity between amateur discovery, technical improvement, and in-depth artistic practice.
The program is supervised by a team of professional artists from the world of circus and entertainment.
The school also uses assistant instructors selected from among its young practitioners for their teaching skills, their kindness and their commitment.
External contributors occasionally enrich the teaching by bringing other artistic and technical perspectives.
ArtScéniK also organizes workshops during school holidays. These periods allow participants to discover or deepen their knowledge of acrobatics, aerial disciplines, juggling and balancing in a setting different from regular classes.
Creation and representation also occupy an important place in the school's project.
Students participate in shows, presentations and collaborations with other cultural players in the region.
ArtScéniK thus actively contributes to the artistic life of Chablais, by allowing young circus artists to discover the stage and share their work with the public.
The ArtScéniK-Monthey association supports students' artistic projects. Composed of parents and volunteers, it provides support in organizing shows, logistics, costumes, fundraising, and travel.
Since 2019 , the school has been managed by Pavel Fürst , an artist and teacher trained in particular at the FLIC professional school in Turin.
With over twenty years of existence , ArtScéniK is today a structured and recognized circus school, combining initiation from a very young age, amateur teaching for all levels, technical improvement and artistic creation in a spirit of openness and transmission.
