Aura Company

Located in Turku, in southwestern Finland, Aura Company is an artistic association specializing in circus arts, theatre, and live performance. Also known as Sirkusteatteri Aura, it has been developing teaching, creation, and artistic dissemination activities since 2018.

The association has its own circus school, which welcomes children, teenagers and adults. It also has a performance space and regularly organizes events dedicated to contemporary circus.

A circus school open to diverse audiences

Aura Company offers weekly classes allowing you to discover circus arts in a friendly environment.

The teaching emphasizes the enjoyment of practice, individual progress, and collective learning. Students develop their coordination, balance, strength, and creativity through exercises adapted to their age.

General circus classes are aimed particularly at children aged 5 to 14. They allow children to discover different circus techniques, gain confidence and gradually develop their physical and artistic abilities.

The goal is to offer participants an enriching activity, combining movement, personal expression and cooperation.

Specialized aerial acrobatics courses

Aerial acrobatics plays an important role in Aura Company's educational program.

Students can discover several apparatus, including aerial silks, trapeze, aerial hoop, straps and rope.

The sessions include exercises for muscle strengthening, mobility, and technical learning. Beginners start with fundamental positions and initial suspended movements, while more experienced practitioners delve deeper into figures and combinations.

The school offers several levels for children aged 7 to 12, as well as an advanced group for 10-13 year olds and a group for teenagers aged 14 to 18.

This allows young people to develop their skills over the years, in a setting adapted to their experience.

Aerial acrobatics classes for adults

Aura Company also welcomes adults wishing to discover or further their knowledge of aerial acrobatics.

Participants work on their strength, flexibility, coordination and body control through exercises performed on different apparatus.

The sessions allow you to progress at your own pace and learn new techniques in an encouraging atmosphere.

The school offers several weekly time slots, giving adults the opportunity to practice this discipline regularly.

Special attention will be paid to accessibility

The association seeks to make circus arts accessible to different types of participants.

In particular, it offers a small aerial acrobatics group for children who prefer to operate in a less crowded environment.

This formula may be suitable for children who need more individualized support, particularly in cases of sensory sensitivity or special needs.

The small group size allows the teacher to devote more attention to each participant and to adapt the exercises.

This approach illustrates Aura Company's desire to promote an open and welcoming circus practice.

Improvisational theatre with ImproAura

In addition to circus training, Aura Company offers an improvisation theatre activity called ImproAura .

Aimed at adults, it allows participants to discover theatrical improvisation techniques through games, group exercises, and imaginary situations.

Participants develop their spontaneity, creativity and ability to communicate with others.

No prior theatrical experience is necessary to discover this activity.

Improvisational theatre complements circus arts by giving significant importance to personal expression and collective work.

Shows and a space for artistic creation

Aura Company is not limited to teaching. The association also has a performance space that hosts professional shows and artistic creations.

Its theatre, arranged in an intimate black box format, allows for the presentation of different forms of live performance.

The program includes contemporary circus, theatre, dance, performances and interdisciplinary creations.

The association hosts both its own productions and shows offered by guest artists.

Open Stage evenings also offer artists the opportunity to present acts, experiments or projects in progress.

Services include introductory circus workshops, theatrical improvisation activities, birthday parties and team-building days.

The association can also participate in events with circus shows, theatrical performances and fire performances.

The workshops are led by professionals and tailored to the needs of the participants.

These activities allow students to discover the performing arts outside of their weekly classes.
