Cirque des petits is a circus arts awakening workshop offered by the Foyer Mogador to young children in the Caurel , Lavannes and Pomacle area, in the Marne.

The Foyer Mogador is an association created in 1982 which develops numerous cultural, educational, recreational, social and sporting activities in these three municipalities located near Reims .

Among the activities for children, Cirque des petits allows a first discovery of circus arts from the age of 2 , provided that the child is autonomous , and up to 5 years old .

The activity is designed specifically for young children. It is not about replicating a circus class intended for older children, but about using circus techniques in a playful way adapted to the motor skills of the young participants.

The different disciplines are approached through games.

The children discover, in particular, balances , rolls and the manipulation of Chinese plates .

These activities allow for the gradual development of balance, coordination, motor skills and body control.

The workshop also places great importance on creativity and spontaneity .

Circus arts thus provide a medium allowing children to experience different motor situations while playing and discovering new objects.

The goal is not to achieve a technical performance, but to gain initial familiarity with the world of the circus.

  • Rolling introduces children to the basics of ground acrobatics.
  • Balance exercises develop stability, coordination, and body awareness in space.
  • Chinese plates , on the other hand, allow for a first approach to object manipulation and juggling.

The whole thing is organized in the form of playful situations adapted to the age of the participants.

An annual activity for the 2026-2027 season

For the 2026-2027 season, Cirque des petits operates as a true annual activity.

The sessions take place every Wednesday for one hour.

A first trial session can be carried out without obligation , after pre-registration of the child.

The activity is affiliated with UFOLEP and therefore requires a sports license in addition to membership in Foyer Mogador .

The Mogador Hostel, a local community project

Cirque des petits is part of the larger project of the Foyer Mogador .

Founded in 1982 , the association offers numerous activities to the inhabitants of Caurel , Lavannes and Pomacle as well as to the inhabitants of neighboring municipalities.

His project covers sports, cultural, educational and leisure activities.

The Mogador Home thus allows families to access different activities locally without necessarily having to travel to Reims .

The circus activity is specifically geared towards early childhood and constitutes a complementary offering to other circus schools in the area which often start their courses from 4 , 5 or 6 years old .

Cirque des petits therefore allows a first approach from 2 years old for children sufficiently independent.

The workshop is intentionally simple and accessible .

Balances, rolls and Chinese plates are used as tools for discovery and motor development.

This approach combines physical awareness and an introduction to circus arts in a recreational setting.

Cirque des petits thus constitutes a regular amateur circus workshop specializing in early childhood, integrated into the activities of the Foyer Mogador and intended for families from Caurel , Lavannes , Pomacle and the surrounding municipalities.
