A circus concept accessible to all

Circo VagaMundo champions a vision of circus accessible to all. Its principle, " Para Todos Tudo " (For Everyone), affirms that circus arts can be practiced regardless of age, social status, or the physical or intellectual abilities of the participants. This inclusive dimension is one of the foundations of the project.

A pedagogy centered on global development

Regular classes allow children to discover different circus disciplines in a group setting. Learning is viewed as a tool for physical, emotional, and social development. Circus practice helps develop coordination, balance, concentration, and body awareness . It also contributes to building self-confidence .

Working together allows participants to learn to cooperate and progress with others. Respect , trust , and discipline are among the values developed during the sessions. Creativity and enjoyment also play a central role in the teaching approach.

Circo VagaMundo thus seeks to go beyond mere technical training. The circus becomes a tool allowing each participant to discover different facets of their personality and develop new skills.

Occasional workshops for diverse audiences

The project also organizes occasional workshops for a wide variety of audiences. These activities can be offered in schools, at cultural events, festivals, or as part of social and educational projects.

An experience in inclusive circus since 2014

Circo VagaMundo has extensive experience in the field of inclusive circus. Since 2014, the project has collaborated with various organizations developing inclusion initiatives in Portugal. These collaborations have focused on projects for people with physical or intellectual disabilities. The project has also worked with social, therapeutic, and educational organizations.

Circo VagaMundo works with school groups and develops activities adapted to educational contexts. Circus arts then become a tool for exploring the relationship to the body, to others, and to learning in a new way. The project has also participated in initiatives related to alternative education , homeschooling , and Waldorf education . This diversity of experience contributes to a particularly open approach to teaching circus arts.

European collaborations

Circo VagaMundo also maintains relationships with several European social circus organizations. Collaborations have been developed with circus schools and projects in Germany and Belgium . These exchanges have allowed for the sharing of different teaching methods and social circus practices. The project also participated in a training-of-trainers initiative involving the Circus in Beweging network and Cirque du Soleil .

An artistic and theatrical activity

Circo VagaMundo also develops an artistic program. The project supports the creation of circus performances and shows intended for public presentation. Students and aspiring artists can thus gradually discover the stagecraft aspects of circus arts. Creative workshops and various meetings connect learning , expression , and performance .

Festivals and cultural events

Circo VagaMundo regularly participates in festivals and cultural events in Portugal. These activities combine participatory workshops, juggling demonstrations, group practices, and artistic presentations. The project maintains a significant collaboration with the Teatro Experimental de Lagos . It is one of the founding projects of the Emraizart festival, dedicated to circus and theater. Within this framework, Circo VagaMundo develops workshops, educational programs, and artistic projects.

The regular classes currently held in Lagos extend this collaboration. They allow children to practice circus arts throughout the school year. Instruction is organized around regular groups and a collective progression.

A unique project in the Portuguese circus landscape

Circo VagaMundo combines circus school , social circus , inclusion , school outreach , traveling workshops , and artistic creation . Its approach is based on the idea that circus arts can be accessible to all and become a genuine tool for integration, personal development, and connection.
