ASCEPL offers weekly circus arts workshops for children and teenagers aged 5 to 15 in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. The sessions combine circus skills, gymnastics on apparatus, and rhythmic gymnastics, with instruction provided by state-certified teachers. The season culminates in a performance by the young artists.
The Lepic Popular Education Sports and Cultural Association, more commonly known as ASCEPL, offers weekly circus arts practice in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
Founded in 1976 , this neighborhood association develops various sports and artistic activities with the aim of fostering the physical, social, and cultural development of its members. Circus arts are among the disciplines offered to young people throughout the school year.
For the 2026-2027 season, the circus activity is aimed at children and teenagers aged 5 to 15. Two groups are formed in order to adapt the practice to the age of the participants: one group for 5-9 year olds and a second for 9-15 year olds .
The sessions take the form of circus workshops combining circus arts with apparatus gymnastics and rhythmic gymnastics. This approach allows young participants to progressively develop their physical abilities, coordination, and body control through various situations and techniques.
The activity is designed as an introductory and recreational practice. The objective is not competition, but discovery, learning and progress for each participant.
The courses are taught by a team of state-certified teachers. For the 2026-2027 season, the teaching team includes Corinne Pierotti , Fabrice Bresler , Niels Guttermann and Elian Civil-Costa .
The regularity of the sessions allows children and teenagers to progress throughout the year and gradually acquire new skills.
The practice also has an important artistic and collective dimension. The work done throughout the year culminates in an end-of-season performance with the creation of a show by the young artists.
This preparation gives participants the opportunity to put into practice the learning acquired during the courses, to participate in a collective creation and to discover the stage dimension of circus arts.
The sessions take place at the Lepic / Durantin Gymnasium , in the heart of the Abbesses and Montmartre district, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
Circus arts are integrated into an association that welcomes over 400 members of all ages involved in various sporting activities. ASCEPL aims to offer accessible, friendly, and family-oriented activities, primarily for residents of the neighborhood.
With two weekly groups, one hour forty-five minute sessions, supervision by qualified professionals and the production of an end-of-year show, the ASCEPL Circus Arts workshop constitutes a structured offer of amateur circus practice in Paris.
