Amateur circus workshop offered by the Kaysersberg Family Association for children aged 7 to 14. Supervised by Mélanie Doffin, the youngsters discover juggling, diabolo, unicycle, balances, acrobatics, lifts and pyramids in a small group limited to 12 participants.
Circus Arts is an amateur practice workshop offered in Kaysersberg by the Kaysersberg Family Association .
The Family Association develops numerous leisure activities for the residents and families of Kaysersberg Vignoble . Its program includes sports, artistic, cultural, creative and personal development activities, among which is a workshop specifically dedicated to circus arts .
Aimed at children and teenagers aged 7 to 14 , the workshop is led by Mélanie Doffin .
The sessions are organised in small groups , with a maximum of 12 participants , in order to allow children to discover and practice different circus techniques.
The activity is intentionally multidisciplinary .
Juggling constitutes a first major family of disciplines. Children can manipulate scarves, balls, rings and clubs .
The diabolo is also among the techniques explicitly taught in the workshop.
A second part of the learning is devoted to balances on objects .
Participants can discover pedal boats , rolla-bolla , unicycles and balance balls .
These different disciplines allow you to gradually work on balance , coordination and control of movements .
Acrobatics constitutes the third major focus of the workshop.
The children learn about rolling , carrying , and building group pyramids .
The presence of lifts and pyramids allows individual bodywork to be combined with a collective practice requiring listening , coordination and cooperation between participants.
The course runs during the school year, excluding school holidays .
For the 2026-2027 season, it is organised on Friday in the late afternoon at the gymnasium of the Geiler school in Kaysersberg.
The deliberately limited number of twelve children gives this workshop a different dimension from the large circus schools offering several dozen or hundreds of students and numerous groups.
This is a local workshop allowing children in the area to discover several major families of circus arts as part of the activities of the Family Association.
The Kaysersberg Family Association is not exclusively dedicated to the circus. It offers many other activities for children and adults.
Circus Arts is therefore a section or workshop of the association rather than an independent circus school.
This distinction does not prevent it from being listed as a place for amateur practice: the activity is organized throughout the school year and has an identified instructor , a regular group and a clearly defined circus program .
The diversity of the materials offered allows children to discover several disciplines before developing their preferences.
The Circus Arts workshop thus provides an opportunity for children and teenagers aged 7 to 14 to regularly practice circus arts in Kaysersberg.
Integrated into the Kaysersberg Family Association, it favours a leisure practice in small groups and a multidisciplinary discovery of juggling, balances and acrobatics.
