The MJC of Tarascon-sur-Ariège offers a weekly activity dedicated to the discovery and practice of circus arts for children aged 3 to 12.

Participants are divided into two groups to adapt the sessions to their age. The first workshop welcomes children aged 3 to 5 , while the second is for children aged 6 to 12 .

For younger children, this activity provides a first introduction to the world of circus. It allows them to gradually discover circus arts in a group setting adapted to their abilities.

From the age of 6, participants have a longer session allowing them to continue their discovery and gradually develop their practice.

The workshops are led by Aurélien Camoz , a qualified instructor. He also teaches capoeira classes at the MJC for children, teenagers, and adults.

The regularity of the sessions allows children to practice throughout the school year and progress at their own pace.

The activity takes place in the Germa room of the Tarascon-sur-Ariège Social Centre , where the Youth and Culture Centre is located.

Founded in 1971 , the MJC of Tarascon-sur-Ariège is a popular education association that develops sports, cultural, artistic, craft and wellness activities accessible to different audiences.

It brings together on average around 300 members around some twenty activities. Circus arts are thus integrated into a diverse program including visual arts, dance, capoeira, judo, pottery and various artistic or sporting practices.

Although it is not an independent circus school, circus arts are offered in the form of regular classes organized throughout the season.

With two groups allowing children to start from the age of 3 and continue up to 12 years old , the MJC workshop thus constitutes a structured local offering for the initiation and amateur practice of circus arts in Tarascon-sur-Ariège.
