Founded in 2016 , the association Les Arts du Cirque develops the teaching and practice of circus arts in the Val d'Europe area, primarily in Montévrain and Magny-le-Hongre , in Seine-et-Marne. The association presents itself as the first circus school created in the northern part of the department.
The school welcomes children, teenagers and adults to a multidisciplinary and specialized practice. Its program allows participants to discover several major circus disciplines and then, for those who wish, to develop specific disciplines, particularly aerial arts.
This diversity allows children to gradually develop coordination , balance , body awareness , dexterity and creativity while discovering different approaches to the circus.
Aerial disciplines are one of the association's major specialties. The school documents the practice of several apparatuses and offers specific courses according to age groups and skill levels.
Courses are offered to children and teenagers as well as older teenagers and adults, with different levels of practice.
Circus Arts also incorporates acrobatics , flexibility , strength training , and balance . The offering is complemented by flow arts, including the use of bolas and staff , as well as fire manipulation for relevant activities.
The school offers several entry points: multidisciplinary practice to discover different techniques, aerial specialization, acrobatics, flexibility and balance work or even object manipulation.
Practitioners who are sufficiently independent can benefit from free practice time. These sessions are not structured classes ; they allow for independent work while respecting the safety rules established by the association. External professional artists can also access these training sessions according to the conditions defined by the school.
Creation and performance are integral to the project. The association organizes a large end-of-year show, allowing students to present the work they have completed during the season. Classes and special events thus provide spaces where technical learning and artistic expression can converge.
Circus Arts works in schools and with local communities. The association offers projects to schools, colleges and leisure centers located around Chessy , combining technical skills and expression.
The objective of these projects is not limited to trying out a few pieces of equipment: the association guides participants towards a small collective creation combining circus , music and body expression , allowing children to experience the position of performing artist and to build a presentation together.
This activity allows the school to extend its reach beyond its weekly classes in Montévrain and Magny-le-Hongre and to participate in artistic and cultural education in the Val d'Europe area.
The association has a professional entertainment business with Les Arts du Cirque Production . This company develops fixed shows and street performances for towns, events, weddings, castles and other events.
For these shows, the association has, among other things, a self-supporting aerial gantry that can be set up for events. The structure can be configured at different heights, up to eight meters , and can also be rented to other entertainment professionals.
This dual identity of school and company is an important characteristic: students practice in an environment where the disciplines taught are also used for the creation of real professional shows and entertainment.
The association also develops introductory services allowing the public to discover certain disciplines around the shows and offers special entertainment for groups and private events.
Circus Arts are presented through the following elements:
This versatility makes the association a complete circus structure in the Val d'Europe area.
In Montévrain and Magny-le-Hongre, children, teenagers, and adults can discover or deepen their knowledge of circus arts in an environment where aerial practices play a particularly important role. Acrobatics , juggling , balancing , silks , trapeze , hoop , rope , flow arts , and stage performance make up a very diverse world. The association thus contributes to developing circus arts in northern Seine-et-Marne while participating in the cultural and event life of Val d'Europe.
