The Paris Anim' centers in the 19th arrondissement offer weekly circus arts classes for children aged 3 to 14. Acrobatics, juggling and object manipulation, balance and body expression allow children to discover the main circus disciplines while developing coordination, self-confidence, cooperation and relationships with others.
The Paris Anim' Centres in the 19th arrondissement offer a wide range of amateur circus arts activities for children, with several weekly classes spread across different parts of the arrondissement.
The workshops welcome children from the age of 3 and allow them to continue practicing up to the age of 14, depending on the center and group. This age-based approach allows the exercises and learning to be progressively adapted to the abilities of the participants.
The teaching is multidisciplinary and combines several major families of circus arts. Acrobatics is notably addressed through rolls, body balances, the cartwheel and simple lifts.
Juggling and object manipulation also play an important role in the sessions. Children can experiment with different props such as fabrics, balls, hoops, and rings.
Balancing exercises on objects complement this exploration, notably with the rolla-bolla and the pedal go. These practices allow for the progressive development of balance, posture, coordination, and movement control.
Physical expression is also an integral part of the teaching. Circus arts are thus considered not only as a physical and technical activity, but also as an artistic practice allowing children to explore movement and their relationship to others.
The pedagogy places particular importance on physical coordination, relationships with partners and objects, and the development of self-confidence .
Group exercises also help develop trust in others, a spirit of cooperation, and self-improvement. Each child is thus encouraged to experiment, progress, and participate in a group activity.
For the 2026-2027 season, classes are spread across five locations : the Paris Anim' Clavel, Mathis, Place des Fêtes, Rébeval, and Solidarité Angèle Mercier centers. The groups cover different age ranges, from toddlers aged 3-4 to teenagers aged 14.
This presence in several districts allows us to offer a particularly well-developed local service in the 19th arrondissement.
In addition to weekly classes, the Paris Anim' Centers also organize workshops during school holidays. Workshops dedicated to circus arts or combining circus arts with other disciplines offer opportunities to further develop juggling, balance, acrobatics, and performance skills.
The workshops are part of the broader popular education project of the Paris Anim' Centres, which offer numerous artistic, cultural, sporting and educational activities to residents.
With its many time slots, five practice locations and teaching covering acrobatics, juggling, object manipulation, balances and body expression, the offering of the Paris Anim' Centres in the 19th arrondissement constitutes a true local network for initiation and amateur practice of circus arts in Paris.
