Circus Briliamuzo is a circus school located in Munich, Bavaria, founded in 2023 by Ann-Cathrin Hörschler , also known as Ann-Ca .

The idea of creating this school was born in 2020, during the first lockdown, when its founder was finishing her university studies and thinking about how to develop her own project around her passion for circus arts.

In 2023, the first courses were launched in Munich in collaboration with the JiM eV association. Since then, Circus Briliamuzo has gradually developed its activities and now offers teaching in three districts of the city: Obersendling , Sendling-Westpark and Glockenbachviertel .

The name Briliamuzo is borrowed from Esperanto and evokes the idea of bright, joyful, and sparkling fun. It directly reflects the school's philosophy: to allow participants to enjoy practicing, discovering their abilities, and flourishing in a supportive group environment.

The establishment primarily welcomes children and teenagers aged 4 to 16 years old in weekly courses adapted to their age and experience.

The youngest children can discover the world of circus arts through Minizirkus classes, accessible from the age of four. These sessions offer a fun introduction to the four main disciplines taught by the school: juggling , balance , ground acrobatics , and aerial acrobatics .

Zirkuskids classes then allow children to delve deeper into these different disciplines. They discover, in particular, object manipulation, balance techniques, acrobatic exercises, and aerial apparatus.

The teaching alternates between guided learning phases, group games, and periods of free practice. This structure allows students to actively participate in the sessions and gradually choose the disciplines they wish to explore in greater depth.

Circus Briliamuzo places particular importance on individual progress . The goal is not only to learn tricks, but also to develop creativity , autonomy , social skills and self-confidence .

Groups are intentionally limited in order to maintain personalized support and to respect the safety requirements specific to circus practice.

Ground acrobatics

The school also has a large department dedicated to ground acrobatics .

Miniakrobatik classes allow children from the age of four to discover the basics of the discipline through body games, rolls, coordination exercises, balances and figures performed in groups.

For older children and teenagers, Bodenakrobatik classes allow for a progressive exploration of different techniques: cartwheels, inverted supports, bridges, flexibility, muscle strengthening and dynamic acrobatic elements.

Intensive training is also offered to students who already have a solid technical foundation and wish to progress further.

Internships and workshops

In addition to the annual courses, Circus Briliamuzo organizes workshops during school holidays .

Multidisciplinary workshops allow participants to discover several techniques during the same week and generally end with a short presentation for families.

Specialized training courses are also offered, particularly in ground acrobatics and aerial disciplines.

The aerial program allows participants to discover four classic apparatus: aerial silks , rope , aerial hoop and trapeze .

The institution also develops occasional workshops for children, adults, and families. These formats allow people to discover circus arts without necessarily enrolling in a year-long course.

Family activities place particular emphasis on group acrobatics, cooperation, and the development of mutual trust.

Artistic creation and performances

Artistic creation constitutes another essential dimension of the educational project.

The students participate in the preparation of shows during which they can present the disciplines and figures worked on during the year.

In May 2026, Circus Briliamuzo notably organised the Banana Circus show under a real big top, with the participation of 45 children aged 6 to 13 years.

This performance combined ground acrobatics, aerial acrobatics, juggling, balancing, and clowning.

The founder

The founder has extensive experience in circus arts education and designing shows for children and teenagers.

Trained in circus pedagogy at the Latibul center in Cologne, Ann-Cathrin Hörschler notably provided pedagogical direction for the Circus Contutti school circus at the Michaelischule in Cologne before moving to Munich.

His background also combines knowledge in psychology, dance, theatre and various sports.

This diversity of experiences directly influences the educational identity of Circus Briliamuzo, which views the circus as a tool for physical, artistic, emotional and social development.

The school can also support particularly motivated young people wishing to consider a career in professional artistic training, in particular by helping them prepare their application to a specialist school.

With its three Munich locations , its annual courses, its holiday camps and its work around collective creation, Circus Briliamuzo constitutes a structured and active amateur circus school, offering a complete approach to circus arts to children and teenagers.
