Circus Jongleers is a circus school and organization based in the municipality of Best , near Eindhoven, in the Netherlands. Since 2004, it has been developing activities that allow children and teenagers to discover and explore many circus disciplines.

The first courses began in September 2004 under the name Circus Balista . The project gradually developed into the Jeugdcircus de Circus Jongleers, which today forms the core of its regular educational activity.

Classes are held weekly, usually on Fridays , except during school holidays and certain special events.

The young people are divided into two groups in order to adapt the teaching to their age and experience.

The first group: multidisciplinary discovery (7-12 years old)

The first group mainly welcomes children aged 7 to 12. It is in this group that the majority of new participants arrive.

The aim is then to offer a sufficiently broad introduction to circus arts to allow children to experiment with different disciplines before possibly choosing those they wish to explore further.

This multidisciplinary approach is an important characteristic of Circus Jonglers. Children are not immediately specialized in a single technique but discover different apparatus, accessories and families of disciplines.

Acrobatics

Acrobatics is part of this learning process. Students work on floor exercises such as handstands, but also on group forms of acrobatics.

Human pyramids, for example, allow people to learn to work with multiple partners and develop coordination, trust, and cooperation.

Juggling

Juggling is another important component of the courses. Students learn, in particular, how to throw and manipulate balls, rings, and clubs.

The diabolo also plays an important role in teaching. Young people learn to control the object, to throw it, catch it, and then gradually develop different tricks.

Chinese plates allow you to discover another form of manipulation requiring precision, coordination and control of movement.

Devilsticks and flowersticks are also among the equipment used. These disciplines allow for the exploration of different forms of manipulation and often constitute an excellent introduction to circus arts.

Circus Jonglers also teaches cigar box manipulation. Practitioners learn to control several boxes simultaneously and gradually develop different tricks.

The unicycle

Unicycling is one of the school's flagship disciplines. Beginners start by learning to move and control their balance before developing different tricks and riding techniques.

This discipline occupies a special place in the history of Jongleers since its founder and main teacher, Ferko Adamczyk , has himself practiced unicycling since his adolescence and regularly participates in national competitions.

The balance disciplines

The disciplines of balance complement this multidisciplinary approach.

The balance ball allows students to learn to control their posture and movements on an unstable surface.

Rola-bola is another technique taught. A board placed on a roller forces the practitioner to constantly control the distribution of their weight to maintain their balance.

More experienced students can gradually develop more complex variations and increase the difficulty of the exercises.

Aerial disciplines

Aerial disciplines are also present within the Jeugdcircus.

Aerial silks allows young people to discover suspended work and different acrobatic positions performed in the fabrics.

With experience, practitioners can learn more complex figures as well as controlled descents and falls.

The management team

The teaching is provided by Ferko Adamczyk , accompanied by several assistants from the Jeugdcircus.

This internal transmission constitutes an interesting dimension of the project. Several young people who themselves started circus arts at Jongleers gradually become assistants and participate in the supervision of new students.

The team members possess a multidisciplinary background as well as various personal specializations.

This organization allows children to discover several techniques while benefiting from more specific advice when they begin to develop a preference for certain disciplines.

The second group: towards specialization (12-17 years old)

The second group mainly accommodates teenagers from 12 years old up to about 17 years old .

These young people generally have more experience and have already identified the disciplines they wish to explore further.

Education therefore gives them more opportunities to develop a personal specialization .

A student particularly interested in unicycling, juggling, acrobatics or aerial silks can thus devote more time to this discipline while remaining integrated into the collective functioning of the school.

This progression between multidisciplinary discovery and specialization allows young people to build their own path.

The stage presentation

Circus Jonglers also places great importance on stage presentation .

Students participate in various shows throughout the year and can thus transform the techniques learned during training into real performances.

The summer show is one of these regular events.

The school also organizes its Wintercircus every year, a real production bringing together the young artists of the Jeugdcircus.

For the 2026 edition, nearly thirty young artists aged 7 to 16 are participating in this creation around a common theme.

Preparing a show allows students to acquire skills different from those worked on during technical training.

They learn, in particular, how to build an act, how to work on their presentation, how to move around in a stage space and how to manage the presence of the audience.

Lighting, sound and staging also contribute to the creation of these shows and allow young people to discover different dimensions of live performance.

Activities for adults

In addition to Jeugdcircus, Circus Jongleers has been organizing open training sessions for adults and young people who have passed the age of youth classes since 2019 .

These Open Training sessions are not formal courses. Participants practice independently, and no regular instruction or guidance is normally provided.

These training sessions nevertheless allow experienced practitioners to have a space to continue their practice.

Several circus days for adults are also organised throughout the year.

During these events, specific equipment can be set up, including aerial fabrics for acrobats and courses for unicyclists.

Transmission beyond the walls

Circus Jonglers also develops a significant educational activity outside of its school .

The organization runs workshops for schools, associations, after-school programs, events and other groups.

Participants can discover different disciplines such as juggling, diabolo, Chinese plates, flowersticks or unicycle.

Full days dedicated to the circus can also be organised.

In this format, participants go through different disciplines in succession before choosing the one they wish to use to create an act.

The day can then end with a real show put on by the participants themselves.

This approach aligns well with Jongleers' general philosophy: to allow the public to discover circus arts through practice before gradually transforming the techniques learned into an artistic experience.

Circus Jonglers also develops shows, entertainment and interventions at events in the Netherlands, but also occasionally in Belgium and Germany .

This professional activity remains separate from the Jeugdcircus, which remains an amateur practice school for children and teenagers.

A true amateur circus school since 2004

With weekly classes organized since 2004 , a wide range of disciplines, a progression adapted to the age of the students and several annual shows, Circus Jongleers constitutes a true amateur circus school in the Best and Eindhoven region.

His teaching allows young people to discover acrobatics and juggling as well as unicycling, balances and aerial silks, before gradually delving deeper into the disciplines that best match their desires and abilities.
