The MJC Louis Aragon in Bron offers a weekly activity dedicated to the discovery and introduction to circus arts for children, with an approach adapted to each age group.

The discovery can begin very early, as parent-child sessions are offered from the age of 2 and a half up to 5 years old. An adult accompanies the child during the session and participates with them in the various activities offered.

These initial workshops emphasize a playful and collaborative approach. Parents and children experiment together with different games that involve balance, acrobatics, and coordination.

From the age of 5, children can continue their circus exploration independently in introductory groups. Several time slots are available for children up to the age of 10.

A multidisciplinary practice

The teaching is multidisciplinary. Children discover, in particular, acrobatics , juggling , balancing on objects, as well as aerial practices .

The sessions also cover the basics of simple lifts. Participants are thus exposed to different ways of moving their bodies, manipulating objects, finding balance, and working with others.

A playful and collective approach

The MJC places great importance on the playful aspect of learning. The goal is to allow children to discover new practices and flourish through circus arts.

The workshops also promote group practice . Children learn to interact with others, to experiment together, and to gradually develop their confidence in the different situations presented.

In parent-child groups, this dimension takes on a particular form since the adult and child must collaborate to complete the workshops. The activity thus becomes a moment of discovery, trust, and shared connection.

The various exercises gradually help to develop balance , coordination , motor skills , dexterity and body awareness .

Practical information

The classes are led by Véronique Lefebvre and take place every week at the MJC Louis Aragon in Bron .

An activity within a community education structure

The activity is part of the broader programming of this popular education structure, which develops numerous artistic, cultural and sporting practices as well as a program of shows.

Although not an independent circus school, the activities offered by the MJC Louis Aragon provide a regular and structured introduction to circus arts. The diversity of disciplines, the progression through age groups, and the possibility of starting from early childhood make it a particularly interesting place for a first experience of the circus.
