Circus Magnolia is a circus school for children located in Lenzburg, in the canton of Aargau, Switzerland. Directed by Regula Beck, it offers a fun and progressive introduction to circus arts: juggling, ground acrobatics, trapeze, aerial silks, tightrope walking, barrel balancing, and clowning. The teaching emphasizes the joy of movement, creativity, self-confidence, and cooperation, without any competitive spirit. Students also participate in creations and performances, allowing them to share their learning with the public.
Circus Magnolia is an amateur circus school located in Lenzburg , in the canton of Aargau, Switzerland. It is run by Regula Beck , a movement educator and experienced children's circus trainer.
The school welcomes young practitioners in a friendly environment, within the Haus im Garten, a bright training space located in a garden in Lenzburg.
The educational project is based on a simple conviction: the circus allows children to discover their physical and artistic abilities while developing their confidence, imagination and enjoyment of movement.
Teaching is not based on competition or the pursuit of performance. Each child is encouraged to try different disciplines, to progress at their own pace, and to find the activities they enjoy the most.
Circus Magnolia offers a multidisciplinary approach to circus arts.
The school explores the major families of circus arts, adapted to the age and level of the participants.
Juggling allows children to discover how to manipulate balls, clubs, scarves, and plates. Exercises can be done individually or in groups and promote coordination, concentration, and precision. Balance disciplines also play a significant role. Children can learn to balance on a tightrope and a barrel, while developing their stability, body control, and perseverance. Aerial arts are represented by the trapeze and aerial silks. Instruction is adapted to the age and abilities of the participants, with appropriate equipment and landing mats. Ground acrobatics is another essential component of the training. Children discover various individual and group figures, including rolls, partner exercises, and human pyramids. This practice helps develop strength, flexibility, and coordination, as well as teamwork, listening skills, and trust in others. Clowning adds a theatrical and expressive dimension to the teaching. Participants experience play, humor, improvisation and character creation, while learning to express themselves in front of an audience.
The sessions are structured around several stages.
The courses are divided into groups adapted to the age and level of the participants, from kindergarten children to primary school students.
These shows constitute a collective experience where each child finds their place, whether in a technical discipline, an acrobatic sequence or a clown character.
The stage component is an integral part of the Circus Magnolia project. At the end of the course cycles, the young artists can participate in a performance to present their work to families and the public.
Circus Magnolia also participates in cultural projects that combine circus with other art forms.
In September 2026, the students participated in the children's concert "So ein Circus!", organized as part of the Musikalische Begegnungen Lenzburg festival . This project brought together the young artists of Circus Magnolia, under the direction of Regula Beck, and two musicians performing a program for clarinet and accordion. Circus acts and music were thus combined in a collaborative creation, allowing the children to discover a different way of constructing a performance.
Regula Beck 's experience is one of the school's greatest strengths. Trained in movement pedagogy, she also has extensive experience teaching circus arts to children, notably at the Kinderzirkus Robinson in Zurich. Her approach places particular emphasis on physical development, creativity, and the well-being of the participants.
Circus Magnolia is a local school that allows children to discover the different branches of circus arts in a structured, supportive, and artistic environment. Through its regular classes, multidisciplinary teaching, and performance projects, it actively contributes to the transmission of amateur circus arts in the Lenzburg region.
