Circus Mirador is a circus school located in Ostend, created to continue the local activities previously developed by Woesh. It offers weekly classes for children aged 6 and up, focusing on multi-circus arts, acrobatics, and unicycling. Juggling, balance, acrobatics, trampoline, and group activities allow children and teenagers to discover different facets of circus arts, improve their technical skills, and develop confidence, coordination, creativity, and teamwork.
Circus Mirador is a circus school located in Ostend , on the Belgian coast. A new structure in the Flemish circus scene, it will continue, from the 2026-2027 season, the circus activity that was previously developed locally by Circusatelier Woesh.
When Woesh decided to refocus its weekly classes on Bruges, its Ostend location was transferred to Circus Mirador. The new school thus continues the circus arts tradition already present in the city while developing its own identity.
Circus Mirador offers weekly classes starting from age 6 .
The school advocates a contemporary approach to the circus in which participants are not simply spectators: they themselves become practitioners and gradually learn the different circus techniques.
The multi-circus is one of the main entry points into the school.
These courses allow students to explore different families of disciplines and acquire versatile skills.
Juggling is one of the techniques covered. It allows you to work on coordination, precision, concentration and object manipulation .
Balance also plays an important role.
Unicycling is notably practiced during circus activities and also has its own specialized course.
Multi-circus courses also incorporate acrobatics and various situations allowing students to develop their body control.
Children aged 6 to 10 have a multi-circus group adapted to their age.
No prior circus experience is necessary to join this program. Beginners can therefore gradually discover the different disciplines.
A second multi-circus course is offered to young people aged 11 to 18 .
This organization allows for the maintenance of a multidisciplinary practice during adolescence and for the continuation of learning several techniques rather than imposing early specialization.
Acrobatics, however, benefits from a specific course starting from age 10 .
This course places greater emphasis on acrobatic techniques, dynamic movements, and teamwork.
The trampoline is one of the tools used by the school and allows, in particular, for working on impulses, rotations and jumps.
Working in partnership plays an important role in the acrobatics course.
Students learn to move together, to trust each other and to cooperate to perform movements that could not necessarily be executed alone.
Circus Mirador also offers a course specifically dedicated to unicycling.
Accessible from age 10 to participants already possessing some initial experience, it operates in the form of supervised training.
Practitioners can perfect their balance, movement and unicycle control with the guidance of a specialist in the discipline.
This organization allows more autonomy and enables everyone to progress from their own level.
The courses are organized over a full season of approximately thirty sessions .
The 2026-2027 season begins during the week of September 21, 2026 and ends during the week of May 31, 2027 .
Regular classes are held at the Leefschool De Vlieger premises in Ostend.
In addition to weekly classes, Circus Mirador is also starting to develop activities for other audiences in the city.
In July 2026, for example, the structure offered a parent-child initiation in collaboration with the Ontmoetingshuis Oostende .
This activity was based on circus motor skills and acrobatic games performed between children and parents.
The objective was to develop enjoyment of movement, physical contact, self-confidence, creativity and cooperation.
This intervention shows that Circus Mirador does not wish to limit its activity to only students enrolled for the year but also participates in the development of the circus in the social and cultural life of Ostend.
The school is now part of the Flemish circus scene and is listed as a circus workshop by Circuscentrum .
It also remains closely linked to other structures in West Flanders.
Woesh continues to collaborate with Circus Mirador, Circus Moos in Kortrijk, and Cirkomplex in Roeselare.
These three structures originated from the transfer of Woesh's former external establishments and are now each developing their own local project.
Circus Mirador thus benefits both from the experience accumulated by the former Woesh network and from the possibility of building an identity specifically linked to Ostend.
With its multi-circus courses, its specialized unicycle teaching, its acrobatics courses, its use of the trampoline and its first actions of circus motor skills and family initiation, Circus Mirador constitutes today a true amateur circus school in Ostend .
The 2026-2027 season marks its first full year under this new identity and constitutes a new stage for the development of circus arts on the Belgian coast.
