Circus Rambazotti is a circus school for children and teenagers founded in 1989 in Kassel. It offers weekly training from the age of 4 and allows students to specialize in juggling, acrobatics, unicycling, balancing, aerial arts, magic, clowning, and stage performance. Its program combines artistic training, performances, workshops, and social education, with a particular focus on inclusion and individual support for each child.
Circus Rambazotti is a circus school for children and teenagers located in Kassel , in the state of Hesse. Created in 1989 and constituted as an association since 1994 , the project combines the teaching of circus arts , artistic creation and socio-educational work .
The school welcomes children from the age of 4 and builds a progression adapted to their age, experience and interests.
The youngest children start with introductory groups allowing them to gradually discover movement, balance, acrobatics and object manipulation.
From the age of 6 , children can join groups intended for the next generation and deepen their discovery of the different families of the circus.
From around 8 years old , Rambazotti offers more specialized groups allowing young people to develop the disciplines that particularly interest them.
Juggling is one of the major disciplines taught. Balls, scarves, spinning plates, diabolo and various forms of manipulation allow students to work on coordination , concentration and creativity .
Acrobatics also plays a central role in the training.
Students discover different forms of individual and collective acrobatics, including duo and group acrobatics.
Balance disciplines include practicing balance ball, tightrope walking and stilt walking.
Unicycling is taught in a specific way and students can gradually develop a technical and artistic practice of this apparatus.
Rambazotti also teaches various aerial disciplines . Children and teenagers can discover the trapeze, hoop, silks and rope.
Magic , theatre and clowning complement the technical training.
This diversity is intentional: during the first discovery sessions, children are encouraged to try several disciplines in order to identify those in which they have the most fun and the best opportunities for progress.
The coaches then guide each child in choosing the group that corresponds to their level and abilities.
Rambazotti is not only seeking to provide technical training to young artists.
Since its creation, the association has developed a genuine social pedagogy using circus arts as a tool for education , emancipation and personal development .
Learning a new move requires patience and perseverance . Success then allows children to gain confidence in their own abilities.
Teamwork also plays a vital role.
Group acrobatics, shows and creations require young artists to communicate , cooperate and gradually take on responsibilities within the group.
The artistic dimension becomes increasingly important with progression.
Rambazotti has several performance groups allowing children and teenagers to create real shows.
Students are therefore not only faced with learning a technique: they also learn to integrate it into a creation , to develop a character , to work with other artists and to perform in front of an audience .
The shows thus combine acrobatics, juggling, unicycling, aerial arts, magic, theatre and clowning.
The young artists of Rambazotti perform in their own Circushaus but also outside.
The association has a long tradition of touring , meeting with other circus projects and participating in events .
Circus workshops and weeks are also organised during school holidays.
They allow both members and new participants to practice several disciplines over several consecutive days.
Some weeks are multidisciplinary while others allow for in-depth study of a particular family, notably aerial arts, acrobatics or practices combining movement and stage expression.
Rambazotti pays particular attention to the accessibility of its activities.
Free or discounted places may be offered in some workshops to families with limited resources.
The association is also developing " Circus Intensiv ", a program for children with disabilities or physical limitations who need special support.
These children can start in small groups, benefiting from more time and attention.
When possible, they can then integrate into other groups in the school.
This inclusive approach is fully in line with Rambazotti's socio-educational project: every child must be able to develop their abilities and find a place corresponding to their potential.
The Circushaus also hosts various activities for schools, groups and institutions, as well as team building projects.
Rambazotti is therefore much more than just a place offering a few juggling classes.
With several decades of existence, structured weekly training sessions, specialized groups, shows, tours, internships and an important socio-educational project, the association has become one of the actors in the transmission of circus arts to young people in Kassel.
Its operation allows a child to start with a general discovery of the circus, to gradually choose their disciplines, to deepen their practice and, for the most committed, to participate in real artistic productions.
Circus Rambazotti thus represents a complete circus school where technical learning , artistic expression , inclusion , cooperation and personal development are closely linked.
