The Parc des Doublorigènes Circus School is located in Saint-Vincent-Jalmoutiers, in the Dordogne, within an atypical cultural setting combining nature, arts, games, shows and educational activities .

Even before opening their school, the Doublorigènes team had been developing activities around circus arts for several years. Courses and workshops were organized in schools, leisure centers and specialized institutes, in addition to circus camps organized every summer in the park.

This experience led the association to further structure its educational activity with the creation of its own circus school .

A multidisciplinary teaching

The teaching is multidisciplinary and allows students to discover the main families of circus arts.

Aerial disciplines

Aerial disciplines are represented by the trapeze and aerial silks . They allow students to gradually discover working at height and the specific characteristics of suspended apparatus.

Juggling and object manipulation

Juggling and object manipulation also play an important role. Students can practice with balls , diabolo , bolas , and devil sticks to develop different throwing and manipulation techniques.

Acrobatics and lifts

Acrobatics and lifts constitute another component of the teaching and allow us to approach physical work both individually and collectively.

Balances on objects

Balancing acts on objects are practiced with different apparatus such as the wire , the rolla-bolla and stilts .

Clowning and Expression

Finally, clowning and expression complement technical learning with an approach more focused on play , presence and the artistic dimension of the circus.

The school welcomes both beginners and people who already have experience in circus arts.

A qualified supervisor: Mathilde Perez

The activities are supervised by Mathilde Perez , a qualified professional whose background combines theatre, sport, adapted physical activities and circus arts.

After studying theatre at the Limoges Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, she turned to sports science. She holds a bachelor's degree in Adapted Physical Activity (STAPS) and a Master's degree in MESOP specializing in autism and pervasive developmental disorders.

Her professional background has led her to work with diverse audiences across numerous disciplines. She notably taught for three years at the Boulazac circus school in Dordogne, before joining the team at Parc des Doublorigènes to develop workshops, events, and activities related to the circus.

This dual expertise in circus arts and adapted physical activities constitutes an important feature of the educational project .

The team already has experience working with specialized institutions. Circus arts can therefore be offered to different audiences, with teaching methods and equipment adapted to the participants' abilities.

Internships, workshops and outreach activities

In addition to the school, the Parc des Doublorigènes regularly organizes circus workshops . During the summer, several weeks are dedicated to the discovery and practice of circus arts for children.

The activity also extends beyond the park. Workshops may be offered in other locations within the territory, particularly in the form of parent-child introductions or discovery sessions for children.

An anchor in the park's cultural programming

The circus also occupies an important place in the cultural programming of the Parc des Doublorigènes.

The venue organizes its own festival, " Les Doublorigènes font leur Cirque!" (The Doublorigènes Put on Their Circus! ), bringing together introductory workshops and professional shows. This event fosters connections between amateur practice, circus discovery, and live performance.

The school thus benefits from a different environment than that of a circus school housed in a simple sports facility. The park is simultaneously an artistic garden , a play area , a training venue , and a venue for live performances .

The Parc des Doublorigènes Circus School thus represents a new stage in an educational project developed over several years: to offer regular access to circus arts in this rural area of Dordogne, from discovery to in-depth study, while maintaining strong links with schools, leisure centers, specialized structures and live performance.
