Vents de Cirque is a circus arts school located in Janzé, Ille-et-Vilaine. It is the circus section of the Amicale Laïque Janzéenne and develops a project dedicated to the discovery, learning, improvement and creation around circus disciplines.
The school champions an artistic and educational approach to circus arts. Its mission is to introduce contemporary circus to the widest possible audience and to offer activities that enrich each participant both physically and artistically , regardless of their ambitions or abilities. Students wishing to delve deeper can also pursue a more in-depth program.
The activity begins as early as age 4 and continues with different groups of children, teenagers, and young adults. Classes are organized according to several levels – beginner , intermediate , advanced , and expert – in order to build a genuine pedagogical progression.
Vents de Cirque is characterized by the wide variety of disciplines it offers. Among the practices documented by the school are:
Clown, mime and magic also have their place in his artistic universe.
Internships offer a further opportunity to expand this practice. Recent sessions have offered:
For students wishing to deepen their practice, Vents de Cirque offers several enhanced courses in addition to the weekly multidisciplinary course:
These courses allow for both recreational practice and more technical preparation, without constituting a professional qualification-based training.
The school's structure allows it to support both recreational practice and young people wishing to reach a higher technical level or prepare for entrance exams to circus arts training programs. However, it is not a CPES (Preparatory Class for Higher Education) or a professional diploma program: the preparation is part of an enhanced amateur practice.
The school also offers open practice for independent teenagers and adults. This extra time allows them to pursue personal projects, develop a specialty, or prepare a creative project outside the traditional class setting.
Creation and interaction with the public play an important role in the students' training. Vents de Cirque regularly participates in events organized by the French Federation of Circus Schools and by FREC Bretagne.
The school also organizes numerous training courses during the holidays. These courses are open to members as well as occasional participants and allow them to either discover several disciplines or to deepen their knowledge of a specific specialty.
Vents de Cirque also develops significant activities outside of its regular classes. The team conducts educational workshops for schools, leisure centers, and other organizations wishing to develop a project around circus arts.
These interventions can be particularly ambitious. For example, the school recently supported a school project including several weeks of discovery and learning, followed by the installation of a big top and the preparation of a show with the students.
This ability to operate outside of Janzé allows Vents de Cirque to participate in the dissemination of circus arts in the rural and peri-urban area of south-east Ille-et-Vilaine.
The organization also has a professional dimension. Vents de Cirque offers shows and street performances for festivals, events, and entertainment. Caroline and Pierrick Robert are presented by the Amicale Laïque as artists and teachers of circus arts.
The integration of teaching, artistic practice, and performance helps students develop a vision of the circus that goes beyond simply learning a series of tricks. Choreography, music, the creation of acts, and public presentations are all integral parts of the program.
Vents de Cirque is a member of the French Federation of Circus Schools and FREC Bretagne. The school holds FFEC accreditation no. 35299 and regularly participates in regional and national meetings of the federal network.
For the 2026-2027 season, classes are scheduled to resume on September 21, 2026. The program includes numerous groups divided into beginner, intermediate, advanced and advanced levels, in addition to acrodance, an aerial course for teenagers and adults, intensive courses and open training.
Vents de Cirque is therefore a particularly interesting amateur school for young people who wish to develop a progressive and potentially intensive training program. Its structure allows them to begin circus arts from childhood, explore numerous disciplines, specialize gradually, and then, for some students, prepare for competitions or present a creation at national circus events.
In Janzé, the school combines amateur practice, improvement, creation, internships, educational interventions and shows around a demanding but accessible conception of circus arts.
