The MJC of Lillebonne, in Seine-Maritime, offers among its artistic activities a weekly workshop dedicated to the discovery and practice of circus arts .

Aimed at toddlers and children, the activity provides a first introduction to several major circus families in a fun and age-appropriate environment.

The sessions are structured around juggling , balancing , and acrobatics . Children can thus experiment with different ways of manipulating objects, finding their balance, and using their bodies in acrobatic situations.

Practice allows for the gradual development of dexterity , coordination , balance , and body control . Each child can experiment with different techniques and progress over the course of the sessions.

The approach chosen by the MJC prioritizes discovery and the joy of practice. Circus arts thus become a medium allowing children to move, experiment, and discover new physical possibilities.

The workshop is led by Marlène Diallo and takes place weekly during the school term. It is part of the particularly diverse artistic and cultural program of the Lillebonne Youth and Culture Centre (MJC).

The Youth and Culture Center welcomes children, teenagers, adults, and families to participate in a wide range of artistic, cultural, sporting, and recreational activities. The circus workshop is part of this approach to providing access to cultural activities and the opportunity to discover new pursuits.

The MJC also serves as a meeting place and hub for community life. In addition to its regular activities, it develops initiatives and projects for young people and families in Lillebonne.

Therefore, this is not an independent circus school, but a structured annual workshop allowing young children from Lillebonne and the surrounding area to regularly practice circus arts.

With an approach combining juggling , balance and acrobatics , this workshop provides an interesting local offering for a first introduction to the circus in an associative and socio-cultural setting.
