Circus Workshop – Oullins Youth and Culture Center
The Oullins Youth and Culture Center (MJC) offers weekly circus classes for children aged 4 to 12. Acrobatics, juggling, balancing, and clowning allow children to discover different circus disciplines in a fun yet structured environment. Classes are led by Victor Debié, an instructor from the Lyon Circus School.

The MJC of Oullins, in the Lyon metropolitan area, offers weekly circus arts classes for children aged 4 to 12 .
The activity is organized into several age groups to adapt the length of the sessions and the learning to the children's abilities. The 4-5 year olds have an introductory group, the 6-7 year olds continue their exploration, and the 8-12 year olds benefit from a longer session allowing them to further develop their skills.
The teaching is multidisciplinary . Throughout the year, children progress through different major families of circus arts, including acrobatics , juggling , and balancing .
Clowning is also one of the disciplines covered. It brings an artistic and expressive dimension to the activity and allows participants to discover the circus beyond just technical mastery.
This diversity allows children to experience several forms of practice throughout the year and to gradually develop their physical abilities , dexterity and coordination .
The MJC presents the activity as a practice combining discipline and good humor . The objective is therefore to allow children to progress in the different techniques while maintaining a playful approach and the pleasure of practicing.
The classes are taught by Victor Debié , an instructor from the Lyon Circus School . This partnership brings to the activity the guidance of a professional directly from an institution specializing in teaching circus arts.
The sessions take place every Wednesday in the dance room of the MJC in Oullins. For the 2026-2027 season, three groups are offered: 4-5 years old, 6-7 years old and 8-12 years old.
The activity is part of the larger project of the MJC of Oullins, a popular education structure created in 1963. The MJC develops more than forty weekly activities each year as well as a cultural program, workshops and various projects for the inhabitants.
The circus workshop thus provides a regular and structured program allowing children from Oullins and the surrounding area to discover several major circus disciplines. Even though it is not an independent circus school, the instruction provided by a trainer from the Lyon Circus School and the diversity of practices covered make it a true introduction to the circus arts .
