Founded in July 2019 , Cirk'ulaire is a non-profit circus school located in Louviers , in the Eure department of Normandy. The association was created by four people involved in circus arts with the aim of making circus arts accessible to as many people as possible and developing a local project based on culture, community education, and social connection.
The school offers regular classes for children, teenagers, and adults. For the 2026-2027 season, classes are held at the Paul Morin Annex, a room adjacent to the Hamelet gymnasium in Louviers. Practice begins as early as age 3 and continues into adulthood, with groups adapted to different age ranges.
The educational supervision is provided by a professional holding the BPJEPS Circus Activities qualification. This qualification allows Cirk'ulaire to offer a structured approach to the different families of circus disciplines, with particular attention paid to progression, autonomy, and adapting learning to the abilities of the participants.
Cirk'ulaire's technical offering is particularly diverse and covers the main families of circus arts.
Cirk'ulaire combines juggling, balancing, acrobatics and aerial arts to offer a complete discovery of circus families.
Acrobatics is explored through floor exercises, lifts, and group pyramids. Trampolining is also among the disciplines offered. This diversity allows participants to develop coordination, balance, motor skills, confidence, and cooperation.
The aerial dimension is present with the trapeze. Cirk'ulaire thus combines juggling, balances, acrobatics and aerial work in its courses in order to offer students a relatively complete discovery of the main families of circus arts.
For young people with prior experience, the school also offers the "Experience" group, designed for 7-15 year olds who have already practiced circus arts for at least a year. With a longer weekly session, this group allows for greater development of independence and a deeper exploration of skills.
For the 2026-2027 season, the school continues its development in Louviers with classes five days a week and offerings for ages 3-5 , 6-8 , 9-12 , 13-17 , and adults . The Experience group complements this program for young people wishing to deepen their practice.
The annual courses are supplemented by workshops during school holidays. Cirk'ulaire organizes sessions adapted to different age groups and levels, with varying educational objectives depending on the group.
The association also develops significant activities targeting schools and educational institutions. Since February 2020 , Cirk'ulaire has held accreditation from the French Ministry of Education, allowing it to work in school and extracurricular settings.
The team builds the content with the teachers or facilitators in order to adapt it to the objectives of the project, whether it is artistic discovery, motor development, group cohesion or the construction of a collective project.
Interventions are offered from preschool to high school, but also to leisure centers, youth centers and other extracurricular structures.
The equipment allows for a real diversity of practices, adapted to the audiences and educational objectives.
This material diversity facilitates direct intervention in the living and learning environments of children and adolescents.
This capacity for intervention is an important dimension of Cirk'ulaire's project. The association does not limit itself to welcoming practitioners to its school: it also seeks to introduce circus arts to children and teenagers directly in their living and learning environments.
Cirk'ulaire's mission statement explicitly emphasizes access to circus arts and culture for all , the development of social ties , socio-cultural and intergenerational exchanges, as well as an approach related to youth and popular education .
Cirk'ulaire is a particularly interesting amateur circus school due to the diversity of its equipment and disciplines. Through its classes, holiday workshops, and school programs, Cirk'ulaire promotes an accessible and multidisciplinary circus, used simultaneously as an artistic practice, a physical activity, a learning space, and a tool for collective development.
