Cirkadance — circus and pole dance school in Agde

Cirkadance is a circus and pole dance school located in Agde, Hérault. Throughout the year, it offers classes, workshops, and intensives for children, teenagers, and adults to discover circus arts or develop more specialized skills. Activities primarily take place at Studio Molière in the center of Agde, as well as at the Palais des Sports . The school also offers classes in Vias .

Circus teaching is designed in a multidisciplinary way. Students thus have the opportunity to explore the main families of circus arts rather than limiting themselves to a single technique: juggling , acrobatics , object balancing and aerial disciplines occupy an important place in the activities offered.

Equipment and techniques

The equipment and techniques covered are particularly varied. Depending on the courses and workshops, participants may practice:

  • the trapeze
  • aerial tissues
  • the aerial hoop
  • the rope
  • the aerial hammock
  • the straps
  • the balance ball
  • the autonomous wire
  • mini pedal boats
  • the unicycle
  • different forms of juggling

The school also occasionally offers more specific disciplines such as the Cyr wheel, the pendulum pole, the Flying Pole or the Lyrac Pole .

This diversity allows students to discover different sensations and qualities specific to circus arts: balance , coordination , spatial awareness , flexibility , strength , body control , and concentration . Each student can gradually identify the disciplines in which they wish to develop and deepen their practice.

Audiences and youth workshops

Cirkadance welcomes children from a very young age. For the 2026-2027 season, the school is offering a "Baby Circus" workshop for children aged 4 to 5. Accompanied by a parent when necessary, young participants playfully discover acrobatics, juggling, trapeze, balancing, and more broadly, the different disciplines of circus arts. These workshops aim to develop motor skills , body awareness , independence , confidence , and spatial awareness .

Older children then continue their exploration in multidisciplinary circus classes. Teenagers and adults also have access to time slots adapted to their age and skill level. The school thus aims to ensure continuity in learning, from initial circus experiences to more technical practice.

Aerial disciplines

Aerial disciplines play a significant role. Cirkadance offers specialized aerial hoop classes, as well as sessions and workshops focusing on trapeze, silks, straps, rope, and hammock. These disciplines can be explored within the context of multidisciplinary circus arts and then further developed through specific classes or workshops.

Alongside its circus arts programs, Cirkadance has developed a significant pole dance program. Classes are offered to teenagers and adults, from beginners to more experienced practitioners. Pole dance is part of a broader offering dedicated to acrobatic and aerial arts, alongside aerial hoop and other circus apparatus.

Photo — Studio Molière (to be completed)

Studio Molière is one of Cirkadance's main practice spaces. The studio boasts a high ceiling, ideal for aerial work, and is equipped with silks, aerial hoops, and pole dancing poles. It hosts classes but can also be used for training, workshops, rehearsals, and professional practice.

The school opens its spaces to artists and professionals in circus arts, dance, and related disciplines who wish to have a place to train, improve their skills, or prepare a performance. Private lessons, small group work, and practice sessions are offered in addition to group classes.

Cirkadance also organizes workshops throughout the year, particularly during school holidays and some weekends. These workshops can take the form of a multidisciplinary introduction to circus arts or focus on a specific technique. They offer opportunities for both beginners and those looking to refine their skills.

Cirkadance's activities extend beyond regular classes. The organization also offers workshops and performances for various events: circus-themed birthday parties, group outings, corporate events, private functions, and even customized sessions upon request. Programs can be tailored to introduce participants to juggling, trapeze, balancing acts, and other disciplines.

Cirkadance also develops an artistic activity in the form of a contemporary circus company. The company offers shows combining circus arts, dance, aerial disciplines, and pole dance. This artistic dimension complements the school's educational activities and maintains a link between technical learning, training, and the creation of acts.

Thanks to the diversity of disciplines taught and the variety of its formats, Cirkadance caters to young children taking their first steps in circus arts as well as teenagers and adults wishing to practice regularly, specialize in an aerial discipline or perfect a technique.

Between multidisciplinary circus, acrobatics, juggling, balancing, aerial disciplines, workshops and artistic practice, Cirkadance is a place for discovering, learning and perfecting circus arts in Agde and, with its new courses, in Vias.
