Cirkomplex is a new circus school located in Roeselare, West Flanders. Created in 2026 , it offers weekly classes allowing children, teenagers and adults to discover and practice circus arts in a fun, collective and stimulating environment.

Although the association is recent, the circus practice it develops in Roeselare already has a history. For many years, local activities were organized by the Woesh circus school.

When Woesh decided to refocus its weekly classes on Bruges from the 2026-2027 season, several former members and parents of members mobilized to maintain a circus offering in Roeselare.

This mobilization gave birth to Cirkomplex , officially established as a non-profit organization in August 2026.

The new structure is therefore a continuation of Woesh's former establishment, while now developing its own identity and its own operation.

Cirkomplex defines itself as a circus workshop where children, young people and adults are welcome to discover the circus in a way that is both fun and stimulating.

Regular teaching is primarily organized around the multi-circus.

This approach allows students to discover several families of circus techniques rather than immediately specializing in a single discipline.

It promotes versatile training and gradually allows each participant to identify the techniques they particularly appreciate.

The school organizes several groups corresponding to different ages and stages of progression.

The youngest children can start very early since Cirkomplex currently welcomes children born from 2022 onwards.

This initial discovery allows us to approach the circus in a way that is adapted to the motor development of young children.

Play and experimentation naturally occupy an important place in these early years of practice.

As they grow up, the children gradually join the different multi-circus groups.

The Cirko’s are one of the regular groups offered by the school.

The Plexies then have a longer course allowing them to continue and deepen their discovery of circus techniques.

The Kompanen group is the next group and they also benefit from a longer weekly session.

This organization allows for a coherent progression while preserving the collective and playful identity of the multi-circus.

Cirkomplex is not aimed solely at children.

The organization also wishes to offer a place to teenagers, young adults and adults wishing to practice circus arts.

For participants who are sufficiently independent, Cirkomplex offers periods of free training .

These sessions allow you to continue a technique, to work on figures already acquired or to experiment with new possibilities outside the classic functioning of a guided class.

For practitioners in the third group, the course can therefore be extended by a period of free training.

A separate time slot is also reserved for people who come specifically to train independently.

This possibility is particularly interesting for creating a real community of practitioners around the school rather than limiting the activity to a succession of children's classes.

Cirkomplex also develops activities during school holidays.

From its launch year, the structure participated in joint projects with other circus schools in West Flanders.

In the summer of 2026, a joint circus camp brings together Cirkomplex with Circusatelier Woesh , Circus Moos and other partners.

This collaboration allows young practitioners from different cities to meet around a shared passion.

It also shows that the creation of Cirkomplex does not correspond to a break with Woesh.

On the contrary, the various new structures resulting from the former Woesh locations continue to work together.

Woesh also explicitly maintains a close collaboration with Cirkomplex, Circus Moos in Kortrijk and Circus Mirador in Ostend.

This system is gradually contributing to the creation of a genuine network of local circus schools in West Flanders.

Each structure now has its own territorial base while being able to pool certain projects, internships, training courses or meetings.

Cirkomplex thus benefits from a rather special situation: legally it is a very young association, but its project is based on a community of practitioners and families already established around the former activity of Woesh in Roulers.

The creation of the school directly responds to the desire to preserve this local dynamic.

The goal is therefore not simply to offer a few one-off activities, but to maintain a genuine weekly practice of circus arts in Roulers.

With its multi-circus groups organized by age, its openness to adults, its free training sessions, its internships and its collaborations with other circus schools in West Flanders, Cirkomplex has all the characteristics of a true amateur circus school .

The 2026-2027 season is its first year under this new name and organization. It marks the beginning of a new phase for amateur circus arts education in Roeselare, continuing the work previously developed by Woesh.
