Founded in 2002, Cirqu'en Bulle is a circus school located in Montluçon, in the Allier department (03) . Accredited by the French Federation of Circus Schools (FFEC), it offers children, teenagers, and adults the opportunity to discover and refine the various disciplines of circus arts. The school develops a multidisciplinary approach, blending acrobatics, aerial disciplines, juggling, balancing, and clowning . Regular classes, holiday workshops, discovery days, performances, and shows allow participants to experience circus arts in different forms, in a fun, artistic, and collaborative environment.
Founded in 2002 , Cirqu'en Bulle is a non-profit circus school located in Montluçon, Allier, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . Situated in the Chantalouette area, the school has been developing the teaching, practice and promotion of circus arts to a wide audience for over twenty years.
The association's official purpose is the teaching and practice of circus arts disciplines , but also the creation and production of performances and shows, as well as the development of events dedicated to the circus world. Cirqu'en Bulle is therefore not limited to organizing weekly classes: its project combines knowledge sharing, artistic practice, creation, and interaction with the public.
The school is accredited by the French Federation of Circus Schools (FFEC) under number 3304 and belongs to FREC Auvergne . This registration within the federal network positions Cirqu'en Bulle among the recognized circus arts training institutions in the region.
The history of Cirqu'en Bulle is closely linked to the development of circus arts in Montluçon. In its early days, the young school's activities were notably hosted by the Montluçon Youth and Culture Center (MJC) as part of an initiative aimed at young people from the neighborhoods. The organization then gradually grew and became independent, eventually becoming a major circus school in the Montluçon area.
Throughout its history, Cirqu'en Bulle has become a lasting presence in the Montluçon community. The school notably celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2022 with a circus-themed event held in the area.
Cirqu'en Bulle offers training designed for both beginners and advanced students . The principle is to allow participants to explore several major branches of circus arts and to progress gradually in the techniques that suit them.
The teaching is multidisciplinary and includes, in particular:
This diversity allows for the simultaneous development of motor skills, coordination, balance, concentration, creativity and self-confidence.
Juggling naturally plays a significant role in this learning process. Manipulating, throwing, and catching objects helps develop coordination, precision, rhythm, laterality, and concentration. The gradual introduction of different techniques allows each individual to progress according to their experience.
The arts of balance constitute another important family of circus practice. They confront the student with the constant search for stability and particularly call upon body awareness, positioning, concentration and adaptability.
Acrobatics , on the other hand, allows one to explore the body's possibilities in space. The training progressively develops muscle tone, flexibility, coordination, and body control, while placing essential importance on safety and individual progress.
Aerial disciplines complement this multidisciplinary approach. They allow students to discover a different relationship to the body, space, and height, and constitute one of the technical families traditionally taught within the school.
In addition to these skills, there is the dimension of clowning and stage performance . Circus arts are not only considered as a succession of technical performances: they also allow one to play, create, develop a character and build a relationship with the audience.
This diversity is one of the great educational benefits of circus arts. A child or adult may encounter difficulties in one discipline while simultaneously discovering particular aptitudes in another. The plurality of techniques thus allows for the development of very different skills and encourages everyone to gradually build their own practice.
Learning also has a significant collective dimension. Students share materials, observe each other, learn to help one another, and participate in joint projects. In group exercises, as well as in preparing a performance, trust, listening, and cooperation become as important as individual success.
Cirqu'en Bulle offers activities for children, teenagers, and adults . This open approach allows people to practice circus arts both as an introductory and exploratory activity and as a regular leisure activity or for further training.
The spectacular aspect is an integral part of the association's identity. The creation and production of circus shows are explicitly stated in its mission. These performances provide an artistic culmination to the learning process and allow the public to discover the work done by the participants.
The school also participates in local life and develops activities outside of its regular classes. Collaborations with educational and community organizations in the area have been documented over the years, particularly with elementary schools and leisure facilities in Montluçon.
These projects allow the use of circus arts as a tool for artistic education and motor development . In a school or group setting, the diversity of disciplines makes it possible to adapt exercises to very different groups and to simultaneously promote physical activity, creativity and cooperation.
More than twenty years after its creation, the association continues its initial objective: to make circus arts accessible to the greatest number of people and to allow everyone to discover a practice that is physical, playful, collective and artistic.
Through acrobatics, juggling, balancing, aerial disciplines, and clowning , participants can explore different ways to move their bodies and imaginations. The classes gradually develop technical skills while fostering coordination, concentration, independence, creativity, and confidence.
Thanks to regular classes, workshops, discovery days, activities and shows, Cirqu'en Bulle is today a historic amateur circus school in Montluçon and the Allier region , part of the network of the French Federation of Circus Schools and active for more than twenty years in the transmission and promotion of circus arts.
