Crazy Circus is a traveling circus school specializing in introducing children as young as two and a half to the arts. Circus skills, juggling, diabolo, balancing, stilt walking, acrobatics, trampoline, trapeze, and physical expression allow children to gradually discover the different branches of circus arts. The organization offers regular classes, numerous holiday workshops, and educational projects in schools, generally culminating in a performance.
Crazy Circus is a Belgian non-profit circus school specializing in introducing children to various circus techniques. Active since 2009 , it operates in several municipalities in Hainaut and Walloon Brabant.
Unlike a school operating solely in a permanent venue, Crazy Circus has a largely itinerant structure. The association organizes its classes, workshops, and performances in various schools, community halls, and partner locations.
Circus arts can be introduced as early as two and a half years old. For younger children, the school develops an approach based on circus-related motor skills and sensory and bodily exploration.
Fun courses using circus equipment allow children to discover their bodies, gradually improve their motor skills and learn to control their movements.
As children grow up, they discover a much wider range of disciplines. The objective is intentionally multidisciplinary so that each child can experience different branches of circus arts and identify the activities they enjoy most.
Juggling is one of the main focuses of this learning. Children can manipulate balls, scarves and diabolo and gradually discover the concepts of throwing, catching, coordination and rhythm.
Balancing acts on objects are also very prominent. Crazy Circus notably uses the balance ball, the rola-bola and stilts to work on balance, concentration and body control.
Acrobatics is approached in different forms. Children can discover ground acrobatics but also acrobatic lifts, trampolining and seesaws.
The trapeze complements this discovery and allows children to experience a first aerial discipline.
Body expression is also part of the program. The goal is therefore not only to accumulate technical skills: children are gradually led to use the disciplines learned to express themselves and present something in front of an audience.
The annual courses thus end with a show allowing families to discover the techniques worked on during the year.
Crazy Circus also organizes a particularly important program of workshops during all school holidays.
These training courses are spread across several municipalities, including Ath , Tubize , Le Roeulx , Écaussinnes , Soignies , Neufvilles and Casteau . This organization allows the association to reach a much wider audience than a school located on a single site.
The courses are organised into different groups allowing activities to be adapted to the age and level of the children.
The courses are organised into different groups allowing activities to be adapted to the age and level of the children.
The courses are designed to be progressive . A child can therefore participate for several weeks during the holidays while continuing to progress and discover new techniques.
Each week of the camp also ends with a show . The children present to their families the different skills acquired during the previous days.
Crazy Circus also works directly with schools . Projects can take the form of a discovery day or extend over a full week.
In the most developed projects, the team supports students in learning different techniques and then in preparing a show for the school festival or another event at the institution.
The association also has several circus tents . These are used for some of its activities and can also be set up for events.
Crazy Circus also performs at parties, festivals and events with introductory areas, stilt walkers and various activities for children.
After more than fifteen years in operation , Crazy Circus has acquired solid experience in introducing circus arts to young audiences. Its multi-site operation allows it to offer circus arts discovery in numerous municipalities in Hainaut and Walloon Brabant.
With its circus-based activities from the age of two and a half , its regular classes, its numerous workshops, its progressive path to advanced training and its projects in schools, Crazy Circus constitutes a relevant structure for families seeking a circus practice primarily oriented towards children.
