Dauphi'Cirque en Drôme is a school dedicated to the amateur practice of circus arts, located in Beausemblant , in the heart of the Drôme des Collines . Its activities take place in particular under a big top dedicated to the circus , located at Domaine La Bonne Étoile , 1149 route du Vivier.
The school is run by Thierry Chiaberto , an educator who has been teaching circus arts since 1982. He created Dauphi'Cirque in Grenoble in 1990 before continuing his project in the Drôme, while keeping the teaching and transmission of circus disciplines at the heart of his activity.
Dauphi'Cirque is an amateur circus arts training center accredited by the FFEC for amateur practice. The school also belongs to the FREC Rhône-Alpes and holds FFEC accreditation number 38066.
His project is based on a highly multidisciplinary approach. Students can discover or deepen their knowledge of acrobatics, juggling, object manipulation, balancing on equipment, aerial disciplines and stage performance.
Object manipulation also allows you to practice diabolo, devil stick, cigar boxes, Chinese plates, hats, kendama, bolas or poi and astrojax.
Balancing acts on objects include the balance ball, the tightrope, the rolla-bolla or American roller, stilts, and the unicycle. This variety allows students to work on balance, coordination, body control, and developing independence.
Acrobatics is practiced on the ground but also with the mini-trampoline and the large trampoline .
This wealth of technical expertise allows Dauphi'Cirque to support both beginners and experienced practitioners looking to deepen their skills. Instruction is tailored to the age and skill level of each student.
For younger children, the journey begins with Motri'Cirque . The goal is to develop sensory awareness, body awareness, and progressive control of movement through playful obstacle courses using the equipment available under the big top. Play is central to this initial approach.
Novi'Cirque groups are designed for beginners. Children gradually discover ground acrobatics, considered an important foundation for other disciplines, juggling to develop coordination and dissociation, balancing on equipment to learn to manage their body, aerial arts to experience controlled risk-taking, and expression to learn to play and communicate with the public.
Dauphi'Cirque also offers Perfi'Cirque groups for children and teenagers who already have at least one year of experience. These advanced workshops aim to develop independence on the various apparatus and gradually guide students towards creating acts, alone or in groups.
Grandi'Cirque welcomes teenagers and adults aged 15 and over. This workshop offers something for everyone, from beginners to those looking to practice more independently. Juggling, object manipulation, trapeze, aerial silks, hoop, rope, tightrope, unicycle, and acrobatics are among the activities offered.
The 2026-2027 season runs from September 16, 2026 to June 16, 2027 , with thirty sessions spread throughout the year, excluding school holidays and public holidays. The program includes group sessions for:
The thirty sessions are organized throughout the year, avoiding school holidays and public holidays.
Workshops are another important aspect of the business. Dauphi'Cirque regularly organizes discovery and advanced training weeks during school holidays. These workshops take place under the big top in Beausemblant and are limited to small groups to allow for individualized instruction tailored to the age and skill level of each participant.
A presentation to family and friends is usually organized at the end of the internship.
Dauphi'Cirque's activities are not limited to its big top. The school develops external programs for communities, schools, leisure centers and other organizations wishing to build a project around circus arts.
School projects have historically played an important role in this activity. The school has worked with preschools and primary schools, leisure centers and accommodation facilities, with programs that can lead to a presentation for families.
Dauphi'Cirque also has experience working with audiences in specialized facilities. Its history of interventions notably includes the Gentianes Vocational Training Institute (IMPro) as well as various educational and healthcare institutions. These actions demonstrate the school's ability to adapt its practice to diverse groups and contexts, even though no permanent program entitled "Adapted Circus" is currently presented on the website .
The people involved in the projects are qualified in teaching circus arts, notably through the BPJEPS Circus Activities, the BIAC or federal initiator qualifications.
The association also organizes shows, activities, and events, and can offer services to local authorities or businesses. Circus arts are then used both as an artistic practice and as a tool for building cohesion and fostering collective discovery.
The move to Domaine La Bonne Étoile finally provides a setting particularly well-suited to the activities. The big top offers a true space for circus arts practice, and the estate also has significant accommodation capacity, opening up possibilities for groups and stays.
Dauphi'Cirque in Drôme is thus a particularly rich amateur circus school. From children's first playful sessions to advanced workshops and adult practice, the school allows exploration of a wide range of techniques while giving significant importance to autonomy, creativity and artistic presentation.
With its big top in Beausemblant, its holiday camps, its school and territorial interventions, its FFEC accreditation and more than forty years of teaching experience of its director Thierry Chiaberto , Dauphi'Cirque is today a well established player in the transmission of circus arts in the Drôme des Collines.
