Escuela Circo Diverso is a circus school and association located in Tres Cantos , in the Community of Madrid.

The project was born in 2007 with the aim of making circus arts accessible to the greatest number of people.

Since its creation, Circo Diverso has developed an approach in which technical learning, artistic expression, education, inclusion and collective life are closely linked.

The association considers the circus as a tool to develop physical and artistic abilities, but also confidence , autonomy , creativity and relationships with others .

Regular activities

Regular activities are offered for children , teenagers and adults .

The courses are organized in different facilities in Tres Cantos .

The offering is regularly updated to allow for the discovery and in-depth study of a wide range of circus disciplines.

  • Children and teenagers can, in particular, practice aerial silks .
  • Groups are organized according to age and level to allow for appropriate progression.
  • Parkour is also among the activities offered to young people.

A diverse program for adults

Adults have access to a particularly diverse program.

  • Aerial silks are offered at different levels, from beginner to intermediate and advanced groups.
  • The fixed trapeze allows you to develop strength, coordination and aerial technique.
  • The aerial hoop , also called lyra, completes this offering.
  • Straps allow you to tackle an aerial discipline that is particularly physically demanding.
  • The fly pole or aerial mast is also one of the techniques featured in the program.
  • Aerial dance with harnesses and wall work allows for the exploration of a different relationship between movement, verticality and space.
  • The Cyr wheel is another discipline offered regularly.

This large metal wheel allows you to work on balance, rotation, fluidity and control of movement.

Verticals also play a role in teaching.

Acrobatics helps develop coordination, strength, mobility and body awareness.

Juggling complements this multidisciplinary training.

Students can discover or deepen their understanding of object manipulation and develop coordination, precision, rhythm, and creativity.

The school also welcomes practices situated at the border between circus, movement and physical disciplines.

This diversity allows each person to build a practice that corresponds to their desires and experience.

Some courses are designed for beginners .

Others allow already experienced practitioners to continue their progression.

Circo Diverso also provides its members with spaces for free practice .

These times allow training to continue outside of supervised classes and contribute to creating a true community of practitioners .

The collective dimension

The collective dimension is one of the foundations of the project.

Circo Diverso does not present itself solely as a place where one comes to take a course.

The association seeks to create a meeting space centered around circus arts.

Students can participate in events, shows, festivals and various group projects.

This openness allows practitioners to gradually discover other dimensions of the circus.

Performing in front of an audience is a particularly important step in artistic development.

Circo Diverso organizes and participates in galas allowing students and young artists to present their work.

The association also contributes to the organization of the Circalle 3C Festival in Tres Cantos.

This festival transforms different spaces in the city into venues for performances and gatherings centered around circus arts.

The program combines professional shows, emerging artists, young practitioners and projects from circus schools.

This presence in the public space helps to bring the circus closer to the residents.

The social circus and inclusion

Circo Diverso also develops a significant activity in the field of social circus .

The association explicitly uses circus disciplines as tools for education, inclusion and social transformation.

The projects can be aimed at young people as well as people with different abilities.

Functional diversity is an area in which the association has particular experience.

The project advocates for an accessible circus in which activities can be adapted so that different people can participate.

This inclusive philosophy also applies to the deaf community .

A significant proportion of the association's members are proficient in sign language .

During events organized by Circo Diverso, the presence of an interpreter may be requested.

This option allows deaf people to access the activities and events offered more easily.

The inclusion of the deaf community is an explicit commitment of the association.

This approach is part of a broader conception of the circus as a space open to all people, regardless of their age or abilities.

Youth and international exchanges

The school also works with young people.

Young people can participate in events that go far beyond the scope of weekly classes.

Exchanges with other schools are an important component of this approach.

Circo Diverso maintains links with various Spanish and European structures.

The association participates in particular in the network of the Federación Española de Escuelas de Circo Socio Educativo .

She contributed to the creation of this national dynamic bringing together schools using the circus in an educational and social perspective.

International encounters allow young people to discover that their practice is part of a much larger circus community.

In 2026, Circo Diverso notably accompanied young people from several Spanish schools to the European Juggling Convention .

This experience allowed them to participate in workshops, meet practitioners from different countries and discover other ways of practicing and transmitting circus arts.

These exchanges help to develop autonomy, curiosity and cultural openness.

They can also provide a first glimpse into the international dimension of the circus world.

Gateways to the professional world

Circo Diverso thus seeks to create bridges between amateur practice, youth, artists and the professional sector.

Students can be associated with events bringing together artists with different levels of experience.

The association collaborates in particular with other schools and training structures.

It maintains links with the Escuela de Circo Carampa in Madrid.

Galas can bring together young people and artists in training from several organizations.

This confrontation with the performance allows students to understand how technical learning can gradually become an artistic proposition intended for the public.

Festivals and cultural events

Circo Diverso also participates in large-scale cultural events.

The association coordinates, in particular, circus activities and programming within the Rototom Sunsplash festival.

Companies, collectives, schools and artists from different regions of Spain can meet there.

Young practitioners thus have the opportunity to share spaces with professionals.

This movement between school, events and festivals helps to give a concrete dimension to learning.

The practice is not confined to a training room.

It can lead to encounters, creations and performances.

Circo Diverso also develops projects in public spaces and educational institutions.

The circus then becomes a way to create links between residents, young people and cultural actors.

A strong territorial presence in Tres Cantos

The association has a strong territorial presence in Tres Cantos .

Its regular activities are spread across several facilities in the municipality.

The Polideportivo de La Luz is one of the main places for practice.

Other courses are organized in Tres Cantos' partner establishments and facilities.

This organization allows for a wide variety of disciplines requiring different facilities.

  • Aerial apparatus requires, in particular, suitable spaces and attachment points.
  • The Cyr wheel requires a sufficiently large surface area.
  • Acrobatic practices and parkour also require specific equipment and spaces.

The school thus constructs its programming using several complementary locations.

The teaching staff

The teaching team brings together artists and specialists from numerous disciplines.

This diversity allows us to offer a program ranging from juggling to the most specialized aerial techniques.

Teachers impart the technical knowledge necessary for progressive practice and also support students in their artistic development.

The association project is notably led by Víctor García Castiblanque , one of the founders of the school and of the Asociación Circo Diverso.

Her career combines event organization, juggling, performance, development of circus projects and work around functional diversity.

He also participated in the development of Spanish and European networks dedicated to circus and juggling.

The association maintains a close relationship with the international juggling community.

She notably played a major role in the organization of the European Juggling Convention in Madrid in 2022.

This involvement illustrates Circo Diverso's desire to link its local action in Tres Cantos to a much wider Circassian community.

Open and diverse career paths

The school encourages encounters between generations, disciplines and levels of practice.

A person can join the project simply to discover a discipline.

  • She can then progress technically, participate in open practice sessions and meet other practitioners.
  • She can take part in events or collective creations.
  • Young people can also participate in meetings with other schools.

This diversity of backgrounds allows us to maintain a wide range of perspectives.

The project does not impose a single objective on all participants.

  • Some are primarily looking for physical activity.
  • Others wish to develop an artistic practice.
  • Some are attracted to a particular discipline such as aerial silks, trapeze, Cyr wheel or juggling.
  • Others gradually discover the world of the circus through various techniques.

The social dimension also allows us to welcome people whose objectives are not solely artistic or sporting.

The circus can then become a tool for regaining confidence, participating in a group and developing new skills.

The diversity of disciplines facilitates this approach.

The circus does not value a single form of ability.

A person can find their place in acrobatics, aerial disciplines, object manipulation, balance, expression, or creation.

This multiplicity constitutes one of the strengths of the inclusive project developed by Circo Diverso.

The association thus seeks to build an environment in which differences become a collective asset.

A comprehensive project since 2007

Since 2007, Escuela Circo Diverso has progressively developed in Tres Cantos a project that goes far beyond the traditional functioning of a leisure school.

Regular classes, open training, social circus, inclusion, youth, shows, festivals, international exchanges and cultural actions constitute the different facets of the same project.

This diversity allows children, teenagers and adults to discover circus arts in an open and community-oriented environment.

Circo Diverso thus defends a conception of the circus in which learning a technique constitutes the starting point of a broader experience combining physical activity, artistic expression, creativity, encounter, inclusion and participation in cultural life.
