The Fredy Micheletty Circus School is an amateur practice school located under a big top in Bailleau-Armenonville, in Eure-et-Loir.

Led by Fredy and Isabelle Micheletty, it transmits circus arts to children, teenagers and adults in an environment directly linked to the world of traditional and professional circus.

The school has been located in Bailleau-Armenonville for over eighteen years, under its red and white marquee situated on the Baillolet road.

It offers regular courses throughout the year as well as workshops during school holidays, projects for schools and shows allowing students to present their work in front of an audience.

The courses and the groups

The courses are accessible from the age of 3 .

  • The youngest children are welcomed in the "Babies" groups, intended for children aged 3 to 6 years .
  • Children aged 6 to 9 continue in the "Middle" groups, while young people aged 10 to 18 have groups adapted to their age.
  • A specific course is also offered for adults .

Multidisciplinary disciplines

The teaching is largely multidisciplinary and allows students to discover a large number of circus techniques.

Balance plays an important role. Students can work on the balance ball , the tightrope , the rola-bola and the American roller .

Juggling is approached in various forms, including through the diabolo , Chinese plates and other manipulation objects.

Aerial disciplines are also represented, including trapeze and aerial silks .

Floor acrobatics and trampoline complement this practice by developing physical abilities, coordination and body control.

Clowning is also an integral part of the disciplines offered by the school.

This diversity allows students to discover several major circus families during the same season and to gradually develop preferences for certain techniques.

A real circus tent

The presence of a real circus tent is an important characteristic of the school.

The students move within a circus environment and have a space allowing the installation of numerous apparatus and specific equipment .

This immersion is reinforced by the Micheletty family's experience in the world of entertainment and professional circus.

The end-of-season shows

The academic year culminates in end-of-season performances .

The different groups present the acts they have prepared throughout the year to their families and the public.

These performances are part of the school's history and allow students to discover an essential dimension of circus arts: the transition from technical learning to presenting an act in front of an audience.

Holiday internships

Holiday internships constitute another important aspect of the activity.

They are organised during the different school holidays and welcome children and teenagers from 3 to 18 years old .

It is possible to participate in a full week or, depending on the course, in certain days .

Participants discover or deepen their knowledge of different disciplines such as balance ball, wire walking, juggling, trapeze, aerial silks, trampoline, ground acrobatics, clowning, rola-bola, Chinese plates and diabolo.

The week-long workshops end with a show allowing participants to present their work.

School projects

The school also has a significant presence in educational institutions.

National Education accreditation

The school is approved by the National Education system and welcomes nursery and primary school classes for days or weeks of discovering circus arts.

The projects are built according to the teacher's educational program .

Children can then discover ball balancing, wire walking, juggling, trapeze, aerial silks, diabolo, American roller, clowning and Chinese plates.

The school can host classes under its big top but can also travel directly to schools with its team and equipment.

This mobile approach makes it possible to organize projects in schools that cannot travel to Bailleau-Armenonville.

School projects seek to combine technical learning with the more general development of the child.

Motor skills, creativity, self-confidence and artistic discovery are among the objectives highlighted.

A final show can also allow students to present the creations developed during the project.

An identity rooted in the world of the circus

The Fredy Micheletty Circus School thus combines several complementary dimensions: regular amateur practice, holiday courses, creation of shows and artistic education in schools.

Its permanent presence under a big top and the direct link with the Micheletty family give it an identity strongly rooted in the world of the circus.

From age 3 to adulthood, practitioners can discover a particularly wide range of disciplines: juggling, diabolo, Chinese plates, balance ball, wire walking, rola-bola, American roller, trapeze, aerial silks, trampoline, ground acrobatics and clowning.

The school thus constitutes a place for amateur practice allowing both a first discovery of the circus and regular practice over several years, complemented by the experience of the stage during the shows organized under the big top.
