Cheval Art Action – CAA is a non-profit organization (under the French law of 1901) founded in 1981 by Stéphanie and Richard Lamarche , both from the professional entertainment industry, with experience in amusement parks, circus, film, and television. Based in Muizon , about ten kilometers from Reims , the organization has developed around a relatively rare specialty among French circus schools: the fusion of circus arts and equestrian arts.
Originally focused primarily on equestrian tourism, Cheval Art Action has gradually developed its artistic transmission activities. In 1998 , in response to requests from young people wishing to train with its founders in equestrian vaulting and stunts, CAA also became a professional training center for various professions, including equestrian, circus, street performance, live entertainment, and film.
Today, several dimensions coexist within the structure. Cheval Art Action is first and foremost a leisure club , offering courses and workshops in circus arts, equestrian vaulting, and performance riding to amateur participants of all levels and ages. It is also a school recognized by the French Federation of Circus Schools (FFEC ), affiliated with the FREC Grand Est ( FFEC Grand Est) under accreditation number 51049 .
This combination of circus arts training and horses truly defines CAA's identity. Participants can be introduced to the world of the circus while developing a relationship with horses and the specific techniques of equestrian performance. The center notably offers an introduction to Cossack vaulting, a discipline in which the vaulter performs various figures on a moving horse. Activities introducing different circus disciplines are also offered to groups visiting the site.
Cheval Art Action benefits from particularly well-suited facilities at La Tuilerie thanks to its location on the CL Spectacles site. The complex covers two hectares and includes stables, paddocks, and paddocks. It features an arena for training and performances, a tack room adapted to different disciplines, and a training area equipped with mats and barrels for practicing certain techniques before performing them on horseback.
The site offers facilities designed to combine learning, creation and performance:
The association emphasizes the versatility of equines and their regular veterinary care (dentistry, osteopathy, veterinary medicine) as well as the search for suitable retirement solutions at the end of their artistic career.
The second major distinguishing feature of Cheval Art Action is its professional training center. CAA notably offers the certified training program "Techniques and Interpretation of Equestrian Arts," designed for artists and riders with a professional project in the equestrian arts. Depending on the initial level and professional objectives, the program can represent from 14 to 598 hours , organized into seven-hour days and 35-hour weeks.
The organization is also Qualiopi- certified by France Travail. The France Travail listing identifies Gérard Bouchot as the contact for vocational training and links this training to the profession of circus artist.
The training is accessible to people with disabilities , with possible adaptations to teaching methods. It is recommended to include information on "accessibility/disability adaptation" in the professional training section.
Alongside its professional development, Cheval Art Action maintains a strong commitment to passing on knowledge to amateurs. The association announces courses and workshops in circus arts, equestrian vaulting, and performance riding, open to all levels and ages .
