The I Feel Good association project combines the transmission of circus arts, live performance, and eco-responsible values. The association aims to use circus practices as a means of transmitting human values, developing mutual support and autonomy, and imagining collective and creative solutions.
Since its creation, the school has progressively developed its regular courses, internships and external interventions in the Mussidan area and more broadly in Dordogne.
The courses allow students to discover several major families of circus arts.
One of the association's most distinctive features is the flying trapeze .
This discipline, which requires specific facilities and supervision, is central enough to the project that the structure officially presents itself as a " circus and flying trapeze school ".
I Feel Good offers introductory sessions and projects to discover this spectacular practice, particularly during certain summer interventions and activities.
The flying trapeze offers a very different approach to aerial work compared to fixed apparatus. It requires a tailored progression, a good understanding of the instructions, and a genuine relationship of trust between the performer and the support team.
The diversity of disciplines offered allows students to gradually build their own relationship with the circus.
Some are more attracted to manipulating objects, others to acrobatics, balancing, or aerial disciplines.
The work of the year is not limited to the acquisition of techniques.
Creation and performance before an audience also occupy an important place in the functioning of the school.
The students prepare presentations allowing them to showcase the subjects they have worked on during the year.
In June 2024 , a festival of the school's workshops organized in Mussidan brought together more than a hundred people under the big top for two days.
The students presented aerial hoop, flying trapeze, juggling, balancing on objects and acrobatic lifts.
This type of event allows practitioners to discover another dimension of the circus: transforming a technique worked on during classes into a performance intended to be watched by an audience.
The music and the collective construction of the show also contribute to this approach.
The school also develops significant activity with educational institutions.
I Feel Good can set up its universe directly in a school and build a real educational project around circus arts.
The interventions can go beyond a simple introductory session.
A project carried out with the school of Pont-Saint-Mamet – Douville , for example, allowed children to work around the circus in several subjects and artistic forms.
Visual arts, plastic arts, poetry, singing, children's literature and circus arts practice have been combined around a single project.
Under the I Feel Good big top, the children discovered juggling, devil sticks, Chinese plates, acrobatics, the trapeze, the hoop and the rolling barrel.
The students also participated in the preparation of the performance, notably by creating posters and an invitation program.
This approach illustrates I Feel Good's desire to consider the circus as a genuine tool for artistic and cultural education.
The association also works in leisure centers and facilities that welcome children during the holidays.
Some of these interventions allow for the introduction of unusual disciplines. Children from leisure centers, in particular, were able to discover the flying trapeze with the I Feel Good team.
The association's activities also extend to the medical and social sector.
Partnerships have been developed with various structures in the territory, including a day hospital in Mussidan, medico-educational institutes and the Fondation de l'Isle in Neuvic.
Circus arts can then be adapted to the people being cared for and used as a means of developing motor skills, expression, concentration, confidence and relationships with others.
This social and inclusive dimension is consistent with the associative project of I Feel Good, which seeks to disseminate circus arts to as wide an audience as possible.
The school also develops demonstrations and introductory sessions during local events.
In April 2026 , for example, it participated in the Châteaux en fête event in Saint-Médard-de-Mussidan with several hours of demonstrations and introductions for children and adults alike.
The disciplines offered at this event included juggling, acrobatics, balance and aerial arts.
This regular presence in local events helps to raise awareness of circus arts beyond just the school's members.
After several years of development, I Feel Good reaches a particularly important milestone in 2026 .
The association now has a new location in Saint-Médard-de-Mussidan , at 3 rue des Anguilles .
The installation should help to consolidate the school and provide it with a more sustainable space for its classes and activities.
This change addresses a long-standing issue. In 2024 , the association indicated that its last season under its previous big top was approaching and was actively seeking a new location within a radius of about ten kilometers around Mussidan.
The I Feel Good project required a space large enough and high enough to allow the practice of aerial disciplines.
The association has also undertaken a major project centered around its own big top.
She is committed to a seven-year rent-to-own agreement for a marquee of approximately 250 m2 .
The project also includes the installation of equipment essential for the sustainable operation of the school:
The objective is also to ensure the long-term viability of the jobs created by the school and its external services.
This evolution shows the progress made since the creation of the association in 2019.
From a young structure developing workshops around Mussidan, I Feel Good is gradually evolving into a school with its own premises and permanent equipment capable of accommodating regular practice.
The new site in Saint-Médard-de-Mussidan is scheduled to be officially inaugurated on October 10, 2026 .
This opening day includes circus workshops, games and a concert, allowing residents to discover the new venue and the association's activities.
I Feel Good nevertheless retains a significant itinerant dimension.
School interventions, leisure centers, medical-social structures and events allow the team to continue to reach audiences who do not necessarily attend school regularly.
The association is therefore distinguished by several complementary characteristics:
In just a few years, I Feel Good has thus built a circus project that is strongly established in the Mussidan region.
The new facility in Saint-Médard-de-Mussidan now opens a new stage for the association, with the possibility of consolidating regular courses, internships, projects with local establishments and the practice of aerial disciplines and flying trapeze.
