JKL Move To Circus is an arts academy located in Vernouillet, near Dreux. Open to children, teenagers, and adults, it develops a transdisciplinary approach combining juggling, acrobatics, balancing, aerial disciplines, dance, and choreographed movement. The teaching places significant emphasis on creativity, physical exploration, and contemporary stage performance.
The JKL Move To Circus Academy is a school dedicated to circus arts and choreographed movement , located in Vernouillet in the Pays de Dreux area, in Eure-et-Loir.
Opened in September 2026 , the academy is run by the JKL Move To Circus Company and artistically directed by Inès Lorca , alongside Shahar Kamay , the educational director.
The project has a particular artistic identity : rather than separating the learning of circus techniques, dance and stage creation, the academy seeks to create bridges between these different practices.
Students discover the main branches of circus arts through juggling , acrobatics , balancing , and aerial disciplines . Trapeze , aerial silks , and aerial hoop are among the apparatus offered as part of the academy's activities.
This circus practice is complemented by dance and choreographed movement . The objective is to gradually lead participants to consider movement , the body , space , and circus objects as elements that can contribute to a single artistic expression .
Creation , body research , circography and contemporary stage writing thus occupy an important place in the educational project.
The academy welcomes a particularly wide audience. Parent-child workshops offer an initial introduction for young children. Regular classes then continue with different groups of children , followed by teenagers and adults . Classes open to different ages and levels complete this offering.
The teaching is accessible to beginners as well as people who already have artistic or circus experience.
The artistic direction is provided by Inès Lorca . Trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris , she has developed an international career in dance and choreography, notably with the Batsheva Dance Company . Her journey has gradually led her to develop work at the intersection of contemporary dance and circus arts .
She also works with students involved in advanced or professional courses, notably at the Regional Circus Arts Centre of Lomme and the National Circus School of Châtellerault , where her work focuses on choreography applied to circus arts , collective creation and stage writing .
The educational direction of JKL Move To Circus is overseen by Shahar Kamay , a circus educator, director, and juggling instructor with over twenty-five years of teaching experience . He also develops international educational projects and leads various training programs in France and Europe.
The team also includes Mika Crhon , an artist with the company and teaching assistant , who supports participants in their practice.
In addition to the annual courses, the academy organizes workshops during school holidays . These workshops allow participants to discover or deepen their skills in juggling, ground acrobatics, trapeze, aerial silks, aerial hoop, balances, dance, choreographed movement and stagecraft.
The JKL Move To Circus Company also carries out artistic and educational projects that extend beyond the school setting. Its directors develop collaborations with circus schools , professional training programs , artists , and cultural organizations in France and abroad.
This close connection with professional creation nourishes the identity of the academy without changing its primary vocation: to offer the inhabitants of the territory an accessible amateur practice of circus arts and movement.
JKL Move To Circus is thus a new circus school for the Dreux area, with a project particularly focused on artistic cross-disciplinary approaches . The academy combines technical training , movement , dance , creativity and stagecraft in a contemporary approach to circus arts.
