Jaqulé is a social promotion association and circus school located in the southwestern part of the Turin metropolitan area.

The association was born in March 2005 from the meeting of circus artists, musicians and dancers wishing to develop circus arts in their territory.

Since its inception, the project has combined teaching, artistic creation, performances, cultural action and social circus .

Jaqulé operates mainly in the south-west metropolitan area of Turin as well as in Val Sangone and Val di Susa.

Its legal headquarters are located in Orbassano.

Since 2017, however, its main place of activity has been the former Cascina Bossatis in Volvera.

The association manages this multi-purpose space which has become Teatro Bossatis .

The venue functions simultaneously as a theatre, cinema, training hall and cultural space.

This is where most of the regular classes of the circus school take place today.

The amateur circus school

Jaqulé's main activity is his amateur circus school .

It welcomes practitioners of all ages and different levels.

Pedagogy claims a strong educational dimension.

The association notably uses the non-competitive nature of circus arts.

The goal is to allow each participant to progress without leaving behind students who encounter more difficulties.

The relationship between participants and their well-being is of central importance.

Circus Game

Children can start from the age of four with Gioco Circo .

This first course is aimed at four and five year olds.

The circus is then discovered primarily through play.

The children are experimenting with their first balances.

They use, among other things, boards and a balance ball.

Hoops and obstacle courses allow you to work on movement and coordination.

Small human pyramids are introduced.

The children also discover the basics of ground acrobatics.

Juggling is approached with appropriate equipment.

The scarves allow for an initial exploration of the trajectories.

Soft balls are also used.

This introduction is complemented by hands-on games.

The objective is as much about movement as it is about cognition and emotion.

The child gradually learns to know their body.

Coordination and balance are developed.

Self-confidence and trust in others are also an important dimension.

Mini Circus

Mini Circo then welcomes children of about six and seven years old.

The number of disciplines is increasing significantly.

The human pyramids are explored in depth.

The children discover the tightrope.

They are also working on the ball.

The first aerial disciplines appear.

The trapeze is offered.

Aerial fabrics are also used.

The trampoline complements acrobatic learning.

Ground acrobatics gradually becomes more structured.

Jaqulé even introduces the youngest children to the basics of the Chinese pole.

The juggling continues in parallel with balls and scarves.

Chinese plates are also among the objects handled.

Circo Bambi

The Circo Bambi group welcomes approximately eight to ten year olds.

At this age, technical work becomes more structured.

The fun aspect remains, but the disciplines can be explored in greater depth.

Ground acrobatics plays an important role.

Human pyramids continue to develop collective work.

Balance and juggling skills are explored in depth.

The Chinese pole takes up more space.

Aerial apparatus completes the course.

A new dimension also appears: theatrical techniques.

The children are starting to work on stage production.

Circus technique thus gradually becomes a means of expression.

Circo Raga

Circo Raga is aimed at young people in middle school.

This period is considered an important stage of physical and personal transformation.

The program therefore seeks to combine technical progress, autonomy and creativity.

Acrobatics, juggling, aerial disciplines and balancing are practiced with greater precision.

Improvisation is also taking on an increasingly important role.

Teenagers are encouraged to find their own language.

Collective work remains essential.

The journey notably culminates in the creation of a joint stage project.

Circo Giovani

Circo Giovani allows this progression to continue from the end of middle school to high school.

Acrobatics, juggling, balance and aerial arts continue to be explored in greater depth.

Stage presence and theatricality are also developed.

Teenagers work simultaneously on technique and creativity.

The group constitutes a genuine space for cooperation.

Aviation specialization

Jaqulé also offers young people over sixteen years of age an additional specialization in aerial disciplines.

The fabric can be deepened.

The aerial hoop is another possibility.

The trapeze completes this course.

The work is then more individualized according to the chosen apparatus and the student's level.

Technique, safety, and personal progress are linked.

Meetings and exchanges

Teenagers from Circo Giovani can also participate in meetings with other circus schools.

These exchanges take place in Italy but can also have an international dimension.

The young people meet other practitioners.

They discover new techniques.

Shows and workshops can be built collectively.

The students also participate in events organized by the association.

They can present the acts they have developed with their teachers there.

The circus thus becomes an artistic, social and cultural experience that goes far beyond a simple weekly class.

The adult offer

Jaqulé also has a particularly interesting offer for adults.

Aerial disciplines are offered from the age of eighteen.

The courses are accessible to beginners as well as intermediate and advanced practitioners.

Aerial fabric is one of the main apparatuses.

The trapeze is also taught.

Aerial hoop has its own specific course.

Aerial rope is also part of the program.

The work begins with physical preparation on the ground.

Participants then learn climbing techniques.

Static and dynamic figures are gradually introduced.

Controlled falls can be practiced when the skill level allows.

Progression takes into account individual level.

Adult Chinese Pole

The Chinese pole also has its own adult course.

It is taught twice a week.

The work combines strength, balance, and body control.

Participants learn different climbing and descending techniques.

Positions of strength are gradually developed.

Inverted positions are part of the job.

Dynamic movements and controlled falls can also be addressed.

The course combines work on the pole and ground acrobatics.

Acrobatic Movement

Movimento Acrobatico is another adult specialty.

This course focuses particularly on the relationship between several bodies.

Participants discover acrobalance.

Human pyramids are used.

The vertical lines are carefully crafted.

The course also explores levers, pushes, and weight transfers.

The figures can be performed on the ground or standing up.

Trust between partners is essential.

Each practitioner must simultaneously learn to confide in the other and take responsibility for their own safety.

This approach is particularly well aligned with Jaqulé's general educational philosophy.

Pausa Circo

The association also offers Pausa Circo .

This adult course is held in the middle of the day.

He uses circus disciplines as a form of physical activity and well-being.

Balances and acrobatic movements allow you to work on strength and agility.

Mobility and body awareness are also developed.

The circus then becomes a fun way to engage in regular physical activity.

Educational and social action

But Jaqulé is distinguished above all by the importance of its educational work outside of the school itself.

For more than twenty years, the association has been working directly in schools in the province of Turin.

She works with students of all levels.

Projects can start as early as preschool.

They continue in primary school.

Middle and high school students can also participate.

Jaqulé uses juggling, balance and acrobatics as genuine educational tools.

The exercises develop coordination, balance and agility.

They also allow one to work on autonomy and perseverance.

Self-esteem is another objective.

Participants learn to cooperate.

They develop trust in others.

Respect and listening become essential in group exercises.

Concentration is also required.

Circus arts allow you to work on creativity and problem-solving skills.

Jaqulé notably summarizes this approach with the idea of " learning by juggling ".

The game creates a space in which the student can experiment.

The error is not considered a failure.

It becomes a normal stage of learning.

The workshops are built specifically for each class.

The association therefore does not simply offer a standardized activity.

The content is adapted to the group and the educational context.

During the three years of activity recorded by Jaqulé, twenty-five establishments and approximately two thousand students participated in its interventions.

The project is notably integrated into the educational offering of IC Orbassano II.

This school experience gives Jaqulé a strong identity as an educational circus.

The social circus

The association is also developing genuine social circus projects.

She explicitly uses the playful, educational and social circus as a tool for informal education.

Some projects seek to combat educational and cultural poverty.

Inclusion is one of the principles advocated.

Non-competitiveness constitutes another basis.

Each participant is encouraged to construct their own expressive path.

Jaqulé collaborates with educational institutions.

She also works with public bodies.

Actors from the third sector participate in its projects.

Social services are part of its partnership environment.

This dimension is important enough for Jaqulé to belong to the national AltroCirco network dedicated to social circus.

The association also belongs to CircoSfera , an Italian network of recreational and educational circus schools.

  • It is affiliated with ARCI.
  • It also maintains links with the Associazione Giocolieri & Dintorni.
  • Jaqulé is also a Universal Civic Service location with ARCI Servizio Civile.
  • It also hosts PUC projects in collaboration with the municipality of Volvera and the CIDi.S.

This involvement confirms that the association has a genuine social and territorial function.

Artistic creation and festivals

Artistic creation also constitutes an important part of his activity.

Since 2005, Jaqulé has created more than twenty circus shows.

Many were presented free of charge in public spaces.

Squares, streets and natural parks are regular venues for performance.

The shows are often associated with initiatives that have a social dimension.

The association also organizes its own festivals.

Urban Circus

Urban Circus is dedicated to street arts.

Professional artists share the programming with young artists and companies.

Circosottocasa

Circosottocasa is another historical project.

The event is organised with the network of small circus schools in Piedmont.

He moved between several municipalities.

Young people can participate in workshops.

Students from different schools also present their shows.

This meeting promotes exchanges between organizations.

Circo a Teatro

Jaqulé also organizes Circo a Teatro at Teatro Bossatis.

The program allows the public to discover professional circus companies.

Access is designed to remain largely open to the territory.

Teatro Bossatis also serves as an artist residency.

Companies can work on their new creations there.

This function creates an interesting link between school and the professional sector.

The students thus attend a place where real artists come to create and present their shows.

Circus Camps

Jaqulé also organizes Circus Camps .

The 2026 edition confirms the continuity of these activities.

The camps allow young people to have a more intensive experience around the circus and collective living.

In 2026, the Circus Camp caravan notably set up in Jumarre.

The association therefore remains particularly active more than twenty years after its creation.

Summary for the NetJuggler directory

According to the NetJuggler directory, Jaqulé is an important school to list in Piedmont.

Its age is remarkable.

She has been developing regular courses for two decades.

Children can start at four years old.

There is a consistent progression up to adolescence.

Adults also have several routes available.

Technical diversity is important.

  • Juggling, tightrope walking, balance ball, trampoline, ground acrobatics, acrobalancing and human pyramids are taught.
  • The aerial offering includes silks, trapeze, hoop and rope.
  • The Chinese pole is another true specialty of the school.
  • Improvisation, theatre and stage creation complement the technical work.

Finally, the educational and social dimension is one of the most characteristic elements of Jaqulé.

Its work in schools, its action against educational and cultural poverty, its territorial partnerships and its membership in AltroCirco clearly allow it to be considered as a social circus structure as much as a leisure school.

Jaqulé therefore represents a particularly comprehensive amateur circus school, deeply rooted in its territory and linking circus practice, education, artistic creation and social action.
