Les EntreMêlées – Briançonnais Circus Arts Association

Les EntreMêlées is an association dedicated to circus arts, based in the Briançonnais region of the Hautes-Alpes . Founded in May 2022 around a shared passion for aerial apparatus , it has progressively expanded its activities to offer a more comprehensive exploration of the different branches of circus arts.

An aviation specialization

Originally, the project was primarily dedicated to aerial disciplines. This specialization remains one of the main characteristics of EntreMêlées today. The association offers, in particular, the practice of aerial silks , aerial hammock , aerial hoop , trapeze , rope , Chinese pole and pole .

These disciplines allow practitioners to develop strength , flexibility , coordination , body awareness and creativity while discovering the artistic possibilities offered by working at height.

A more broadly circus-like approach

However, the association has gradually developed a broader circus-based approach. An exploration section allows participants to discover juggling , balancing acts , and acrobatics .

Workshops organized during outdoor events also allow participants to experiment with different equipment and techniques such as balance balls , stilts , slacklining , juggling and acrobatics .

Activities for all audiences

Les EntreMêlées caters to both children and adults . Children can follow a multidisciplinary introduction allowing them to explore several circus disciplines, while teenagers and adults have access to courses dedicated to aerial disciplines .

The courses are suitable for both beginners discovering circus arts and practitioners wishing to progress in a particular discipline.

Training courses also form an important part of the activity. They allow practice to be concentrated over several days and are offered to both children and adults.

Artistic creation at the heart of the project

Artistic creation plays a significant role in the association's project. Learning is not viewed solely from a technical perspective: it can lead to the creation of acts and their presentation to an audience .

Les EntreMêlées organizes its own shows . The students and artists of the association have notably presented creations around aerial disciplines and movement, with work combining circus technique , expression and staging .

A traveling and cultural dimension

The association also participates in various festivals and cultural events in the Briançonnais and Hautes-Alpes regions. There, it offers shows, cabarets, and workshops allowing the public to discover the circus arts.

This itinerant dimension complements the regular classes. Les EntreMêlées can set up discovery workshops at local events and introduce juggling, balancing, stilt walking or acrobatics to new audiences.

The association also organizes days entirely dedicated to the circus . These events combine practice, meetings, workshops and shows and contribute to the development of a circus culture in the Briançonnais region.

A complementarity between amateur practice and creation

One of the strengths of EntreMêlées lies in the complementarity between amateur practice and artistic creation . Participants can discover a discipline, progress technically, and then take part in collective projects and public presentations .

Despite its relatively recent creation, the association has therefore developed a diversified activity combining circus school , aerial specialization , internships , shows and traveling cultural actions .
