Morancé en Scène is an amateur circus school located in Morancé, in the Beaujolais region, northwest of Lyon. Created in 2010, the association was founded by parents who wanted to offer children from Morancé and the surrounding villages an accessible activity dedicated to circus arts.
From its inception, the school has developed an approach to circus arts that combines physical activity , artistic learning , and personal development . Circus disciplines allow students to work on mobility, balance, coordination, and motor skills, but also on concentration, dexterity, agility, and self-confidence.
Classes are organized by age group to allow for progression tailored to each student's abilities. The school welcomes children from around 4 years old and continues its instruction for older children, teenagers, and adults.
The teaching is multidisciplinary and allows students to discover several major branches of circus arts. Juggling, acrobatics, balancing, and aerial disciplines are the main areas currently offered.
The aim is not to put students in a competitive mindset. Each student is encouraged to progress at their own pace, to discover the different disciplines and to gradually develop their physical, technical and artistic abilities.
Creativity plays a significant role in the association's project. Circus arts are used to develop imagination, autonomy, and personal expression, as well as the ability to work with others.
Mutual support and teamwork are among the values upheld by the association. Circus arts allow students to learn to observe, help, and trust others, while respecting the rules necessary for safe practice.
For students who already have experience in circus arts, Morancé en Scène also offers a longer, specific course allowing them to continue and deepen their practice.
Teenagers and adults also have a shared time slot . This organization allows circus arts to continue to be practiced beyond childhood and welcomes both young practitioners and adult amateurs.
In addition to its year-round courses, Morancé en Scène organizes workshops during school holidays. Primarily aimed at children, these workshops offer the opportunity to discover or deepen their knowledge of various disciplines in a more intensive format than the weekly classes.
The school operates as a non-profit association run by volunteer parents. Fees are intentionally kept affordable to encourage as many people as possible to discover circus arts.
The municipality of Morancé has supported the association since its beginnings, notably by providing a room and financial support.
The classes are currently taught by Sara , an independent circus instructor. She also leads the workshops offered during school holidays.
After more than fifteen years of activity , Morancé en Scène has become a well-established local amateur circus school in the Beaujolais region. Its offerings combine weekly classes, progression by age and level, holiday workshops, and multidisciplinary practice within a community-based environment that relies heavily on family involvement.
