Planet'Circus

Planet'Circus , officially ESVL Planet'Circus, is the circus school of Villeneuve-Loubet, in the Alpes-Maritimes. Created in 2002, it operates as a non-profit association (under the 1901 law) and has been developing the discovery, teaching and amateur practice of circus arts for over twenty years.

A school accredited by the FFEC

Planet'Circus is affiliated with the FFEC and holds the " Amateur Practice " quality accreditation. The school also indicates that it has accreditation from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and, through its FFEC affiliation, accreditation allowing it to work with the National Education system.

His activity therefore clearly falls under the category of amateur teaching and not professional qualification training.

Circus for children aged 3 and up

Planet'Circus welcomes children from the age of 3, with programs adapted to each stage of their development. The youngest children begin with circus arts, then circus motor skills, before gradually joining multidisciplinary classes.

• For 3 and 4 year olds: sessions taking the form of discovery trails and workshops, organized in a structured way (explanation, warm-up, activities, time for discussion).
• From 5-6 years old: circus motor skills allow you to continue the discovery by progressively working on all the major families of the circus.

Multidisciplinary courses for children

Older children take multidisciplinary courses that allow them to discover the different branches of circus arts throughout the year. The teaching alternates between individual and group exercises.

The goal is to give children a fairly broad circus culture before they eventually choose to delve deeper into certain disciplines.

Juggling and object manipulation

Juggling plays an important role in Planet'Circus's teaching. Practitioners use balls, rings, clubs and diabolo, with classes focusing on coordination, throwing, catching and gradually progressing to more advanced techniques.

A specific juggling course is offered to teenagers in the school schedule.

Acrobatics, balancing acts and lifts

Floor acrobatics is integrated into the multidisciplinary courses and can be the subject of specialized training. Planet'Circus also develops object balancing, including unicycle and stilts, as well as various forms of body balance.

Teenagers and adults can also work on lifts, pyramids and different forms of group acrobatics, in a course dedicated to balances and lifts.

A wide range of offerings in aerial disciplines

Aerial arts are one of Planet'Circus's major specialties. Specific courses are offered to teenagers and adults, with different levels of practice.

Teenagers can join Aerial level 2 and level 3 groups, the most advanced level including the preparation of an act.

Courses up to adulthood

Planet'Circus is not just a school for children. Teenagers and adults have several specialized courses available, including aerial arts, juggling, balance, partner acrobatics, and multidisciplinary practice.

For the 2026-2027 season, the school operates from Monday to Saturday with time slots divided between the different age groups and levels.

Advanced training for the most skilled students

Planet'Circus has also developed a progression for students wishing to become more involved. A multidisciplinary advanced course welcomes students selected by the artistic director who have already acquired the basics in the various disciplines.

They can deepen their practice before potentially joining La Troupe . This organization creates a path from awakening and discovery to a more demanding artistic practice.

The Planet'Circus Troupe

The Troupe brings together the most dedicated students, selected by the artistic director. These young practitioners further develop their artistic skills and participate in activities, events and shows outside of school.

Planet'Circus also participates in regional and national circus school meetings, allowing some students to compare their work with that of other young circus performers.

This dimension is interesting for a directory: even though Planet'Circus remains an amateur school, it offers a real path of improvement for the most motivated students.

Internships during the holidays

The school regularly organizes introductory and advanced training courses during school holidays. In the summer of 2026, Planet'Circus, for example, is offering courses for 4-7 year olds and 8-17 year olds.

• Target audiences: 4-7 years, 8-17 years; specialized aerial courses from 12 years.
• Activities: juggling, acrobatics, motor skills, balancing on objects and, for older children, aerial disciplines.
• Additional activities: activities related to the world of the circus.

Interventions in schools

Planet'Circus works in schools, offering on-site workshops to introduce students to circus arts. This activity allows the association to reach a wider audience than those attending its weekly classes.

In this way, it contributes to the dissemination of circus arts in the Alpes-Maritimes region.
