Pole Circus & My Weaves

Pole Circus is a circus school located in Ondres and Biaudos, in the Landes region of France. It offers a multidisciplinary approach combining acrobatics, juggling, object balancing, acting, and aerial disciplines, with a strong specialization in silks, fixed trapeze, hoop, and rope. In Biaudos, its Cirque Lataillade venue is entirely dedicated to the flying trapeze, accessible to children as young as 8. The school welcomes children, teenagers, and adults and also develops workshops, creations, shows, and events related to the circus arts.

Pole Circus & Co. My Aerial Weavings

Pole Circus & Cie Mes Tissages Aériens is an association dedicated to teaching, creating and disseminating circus arts in the southern Landes region. Its activities are currently divided between two complementary venues located in the Seignanx area: the Cirkodôme in Ondres, dedicated to multidisciplinary and aerial circus, and Cirque Lataillade in Biaudos, specializing in flying trapeze .

Historical

The association was created in 2015 in Bayonne by Agnès André. Its project was initially dedicated to the creation of circus shows and aerial acts intended in particular for event performances.

In 2016, the association expanded its educational activities by establishing a circus school in Ondres. The teaching was then open to children, teenagers, and adults and was based on a multidisciplinary approach to circus arts.

The school's development led to the creation, in 2018, of a particularly original venue: the Cirkodôme . This 154 m2 geodesic dome is entirely dedicated to teaching circus arts, creating and disseminating live performances.

The Cirkodôme (Onden) — education and public

Now located at the LANDAE municipal campsite in Ondres, the Cirkodôme hosts a large part of the regular workshops. Preschool children discover the circus through obstacle courses, while from age 6, the different disciplines are offered in the form of rotating workshops.

Multidisciplinary teaching

Multidisciplinary teaching combines five main categories:

  • Acrobatics
  • Juggling
  • Balance on objects
  • Aerial disciplines
  • Acting

Students can thus develop very different technical skills while discovering the artistic and expressive dimensions of the circus.

Orienteering and aerial disciplines

Pole Circus, however, has a particularly strong identity centered around aerial disciplines. Aerial silks , static trapeze , aerial hoop , and rope are explicitly among the apparatus taught.

From the age of 9 , children who wish to do so can choose an aerial discipline and begin to hone their skills. From the age of 11 , specialization in aerial arts becomes an integral part of the school's curriculum. Adults can also choose one or more aerial disciplines.

Teaching staff

This direction is explained in particular by the background of the educational director, Agnès André. Holder of the BPJEPS Circus Activities qualification and a graduate of the International Training Centre for Aerial Disciplines, she is herself an aerial acrobat specializing in silks.

Flying trapeze instruction is led by Stéphane Bourdaud , a graduate of the National Circus Arts Centre. A specialist in the discipline for over twenty years, he trained with Jean Palacy before working with numerous flying trapeze companies and teams.

His career also includes the Gala of the Union of Artists, the Cirque d'Hiver Bouglione, and the Alexis Gruss big top. He has also participated in research and development sessions for Franco Dragone and Cirque du Soleil.

Cirque Lataillade (Biaudos) — outdoor flying trapeze

Pole Circus's other major feature is located a few kilometers from Ondres, in the town of Biaudos. Starting in 2019, the association searched for land to establish a proper flying trapeze school. The project culminated in Lataillade, on an outdoor site situated between Bayonne and Peyrehorade.

The " Open Air Circus " project began in 2021 and allows for the regular development of the flying trapeze in an outdoor environment. The site is now called Cirque Lataillade .

The flying trapeze is accessible from age 8 and the sessions are designed as an outdoor activity that is technical, fun and spectacular. They generally last between one and two hours depending on the number of participants and are scheduled on weekends depending on the weather conditions.

The Biaudos site has also allowed for the renewed development of aerial silks workshops for adults. It thus perfectly complements the Cirkodôme: Ondres concentrates multidisciplinary instruction and a significant portion of aerial activities, while Biaudos offers specialized outdoor equipment for high-altitude disciplines, particularly the flying trapeze.

Season, internships and practice

Regular workshops take place from September to June. The season ends with a show organized under the Cirkodôme , allowing students to present to the public the work developed during the year.

Pole Circus also organizes workshops during the holidays. Circus workshops allow children to discover or deepen their knowledge of several disciplines, while flying trapeze can be practiced through individual sessions or subscription cards.

Artistic Activity — Cie Mes Tissages Aériens

The company also maintains a genuine professional artistic activity through Cie Mes Tissages Aériens . Agnès André and Stéphane Bourdaud offer aerial acts and shows adaptable to different events.

The creations can combine several techniques and artists. For the show " Circus Rétro ", for example, Pole Circus collaborated with dancers and a singer from the Mike Angel's troupe, Cirque Hors Limite for juggling and the artist Laurine Dumora for the aerial rope.

  • Juggling: Circus Beyond Limits
  • Smooth rope: Laurine Dumora

This dual identity as a school and a company allows for a direct link between teaching and live performance. Students practice in a structure led by artists who themselves possess significant professional experience in circus and aerial disciplines.

Networking and meetings

Pole Circus is affiliated with the French Federation of Circus Schools and belongs to FREC Aquitaine. Its involvement in the federal network remains current: the school hosted part of the Regional Meetings of Circus Schools in 2026.

These meetings allow students from different institutions to practice together, present their creations, and participate in the life of the federal network. They also serve to select acts likely to join the National Meetings organized during the CIRCa festival in Auch.

Conclusion

The structure thus fully participates in the dynamics of circus schools in Nouvelle-Aquitaine while maintaining a relatively rare specialty: the existence of a true flying trapeze school associated with a multidisciplinary circus school.

The Pole Circus project is distinguished by the complementary nature of its two locations. At the Cirkodôme in Ondres, children, teenagers, and adults can discover acrobatics, juggling, object balancing, acting, and aerial disciplines. At Cirque Lataillade in Biaudos, participants can discover or further develop their skills in the flying trapeze in a specially designed space.

This aerial focus extends to aerial silks, the fixed trapeze, the hoop, and the rope, allowing for the development of specialized training programs starting from childhood. Pole Circus & Cie Mes Tissages Aériens thus constitutes a particularly attractive school for practitioners drawn to aerial circus arts. Its structure combines amateur practice, advanced training, specialized instruction, workshops, live performances, and the professional experience of its instructors in two unique locations in the southern Landes region.
