Studio Cyrkowe is a circus arts workshop integrated into Miejski Ośrodek Kultury (MOK), the municipal cultural center of Kędzierzyn-Koźle, in southern Poland.

Located within the Dom Kultury "Chemik", it offers regular instruction for children from 7 years old , combining juggling, acrobatics, balance and physical preparation.

A circus studio within a cultural center

MOK develops artistic activities in several cultural centers in the city. Its Studio Cyrkowe is a specialized section dedicated to learning circus arts.

The classes are taught by Olena Poskotina , a Ukrainian artist and coach. She trained for eleven years at the Edelweiss Folk Circus Studio and for seven years with the Vyhylyas Folk Dance Ensemble. She also has experience in circus coaching and flexibility training.

Juggling and unicycling

The classes allow children to discover juggling and working with a unicycle.

Juggling develops hand-eye coordination, concentration, and precision of movement.

The unicycle is another component of the teaching, allowing the development of dynamic balance and body control.

Acrobatics and gymnastics

The program includes gymnastics and acrobatics exercises.

Participants develop their strength, mobility and body control through physical training adapted to their sport.

Muscle strengthening exercises complement the technical learning.

The work of balance

Balance is explicitly included among the disciplines taught.

The exercises aim to improve stability, posture and coordination.

These skills are useful for both unicycling and various forms of acrobatics.

Choreography and collective work

The studio incorporates the basics of classical choreography into its program.

The students thus discover the link between circus technique, rhythm and body expression.

The sessions also include work in pairs, in trios and in groups.

This approach encourages cooperation and allows for the exploration of the collective dimensions of circus arts.

A weekly practice

The courses are offered on Saturdays , as part of the MOK's annual program.

The presence of Studio Cyrkowe in the programs of several successive seasons testifies to the continuity of this activity.

The establishment welcomes children from the age of 7, without announcing any diploma training or professional course.

Complementary artistic projects

MOK also develops projects combining circus, dance and cultural exchange.

For the 2026–2027 season, he is notably participating in the Polish-Ukrainian project Rytmy przyjaźni , which includes free workshops in circus acrobatics and other movement disciplines.

This project differs from the usual courses at Studio Cyrkowe: it is based on a period of collective creation and ends with a performance.

The Cyrkowe Studio at MOK Kędzierzyn-Koźle is a place for amateur circus arts training. Through its program combining juggling, unicycling, acrobatics, balance, and choreographic expression, it offers children a diverse introduction to circus disciplines within a municipal cultural setting.
