Studio Polilla is a school specializing in acrobatic disciplines and aerial dances located in Châteauroux, in the Indre region.

A story of evolution

Founded in 2014 , Studio Polilla began its operations as a mobile studio, offering pole dancing classes directly in clients' homes. From 2015 onwards, the studio expanded its services to several locations in Châteauroux and Déols before establishing its own space in the center of Châteauroux.

A specialization in aerial disciplines

The studio is now dedicated to teaching acrobatic and aerial disciplines . Its curriculum includes pole dance , aerial silks , aerial hoop , and aerial hammock . Flexibility sessions complement this training.

The classes are organized in very small groups , with a maximum of four people per session . This allows for individualized support and for adapting the exercises to the level and progress of each participant.

Internships to broaden practice

Studio Polilla also offers workshops that allow students to discover disciplines complementary to those taught regularly. These workshops broaden their practice to include other techniques from acrobatic and aerial circus arts.

Among the disciplines offered during these workshops are hand balance , which focuses on handstands, rope work, and flying pole or pendulum pole. Choreography workshops also complement this technical approach with a greater emphasis on creation and artistic expression.

Aerial arts, at the heart of identity

Aerial arts thus occupy a central place in the identity of Studio Polilla. Practitioners can discover several apparatus and progressively develop strength , flexibility , coordination , balance and body control .

Introduction to circus arts for young people

The studio also occasionally offers introductory circus arts workshops for children and teenagers during school holidays. These sessions allow younger participants to discover the world of circus and acrobatic disciplines.

Julie Polilla, a teacher with a multidisciplinary background

The classes are taught by Julie Polilla , whose background combines classical ballet , modern jazz , contemporary dance , gymnastics , pole dance , and aerial arts . This diversity is reflected in the studio's identity, at the crossroads of circus arts, acrobatics, and dance.

A specialized offering in the circus landscape

Studio Polilla thus constitutes a particularly specialized offering in the circus scene of Châteauroux. Unlike a general circus school offering juggling, unicycle or object balancing, its teaching is primarily oriented towards body acrobatics and aerial disciplines .

Pole dance, silks, hoop, hammock, rope, hand balance and pendulum pole nevertheless allow us to approach a significant set of techniques directly related to contemporary circus arts .
