Tub d'Assaig 7,70 is an association and circus school located in Terrassa, Catalonia, near Barcelona.

The association was founded in the fall of 2007 by a group of circus artists who wanted a common space to train, create and develop their artistic projects.

Over the years, the project has developed considerably around four main axes : training, creation, production and dissemination of circus arts.

A circus school for children, teenagers and adults

Tub d'Assaig now offers a circus school open to children , teenagers and adults .

The youngest children can start from the age of 3 .

Escoleta de Circ: children aged 3 to 12

L'Escoleta de Circ welcomes children from 3 to 12 years old in groups organized according to their age.

The teaching is multidisciplinary and allows children to gradually discover the main families of circus arts.

  • Acrobatics develops physical abilities, coordination, and body awareness.
  • Juggling helps to develop concentration, precision and coordination.
  • Balances introduce new relationships between the body, objects, and space.

Aerial disciplines also occupy an important place in the training.

  • Children can discover aerial silks and the trapeze .
  • Aerial rope and hoop complement the learning offered in some groups.

The clown allows for the introduction of a different dimension based on play, expression and the relationship with the audience.

Escoleta pedagogy has a strong socio-educational dimension.

Circus training is used to transmit values of friendliness , cooperation and respect .

The activity allows children to progress physically while developing their relationships with others.

Escola Juvenil: adolescents up to 18 years old

From adolescence onwards, the Escola Juvenil continues this work with young people.

The groups welcome teenagers up to the age of 18 .

They continue to develop a multidisciplinary practice combining object balancing, acrobatics, verticals, juggling and aerial techniques.

Artistic expression and creation are also integrated into the courses.

Teenagers therefore do not only work on technical execution.

They gradually learn to use circus disciplines as means of expression .

Some groups allow for a more in-depth exploration of a particular family of techniques.

A specific course dedicated to aerial disciplines allows students to work with silks, rope, hoop and trapeze.

This progression allows young people who have already acquired the basics to further develop their technique.

Adult classes

The school then offers a significant program aimed at adults .

The courses are accessible from age 18 and cover several disciplines.

Acrobatics and balancing

Acrobatics has its own niches.

It allows you to work on jumps, rolls, verticals and different forms of acrobatic movement.

The body is used both as a physical tool and as a means of expression.

Acrobatic balances allow for a deeper understanding of physical preparation, verticals, and techniques performed with partners.

Vertical courses also have their own specific courses.

These sessions allow you to work on hand balance at different levels.

Aerial disciplines: the fixed trapeze

The fixed trapeze is one of the aerial disciplines taught to adults.

Students can start with the fundamentals and then gradually learn more complex figures, transitions, sequences and movements.

Multidisciplinary courses allow you to practice several techniques during the same training course.

They combine, in particular, fabrics, trapeze, rope and aerial hoop.

Acrobatics and balancing on objects complement these sessions.

The clown and the stilts

The clown also occupies an important place in Tub d'Assaig's offering.

Several levels allow you to discover and then delve deeper into this discipline.

The work combines stage presence, theatrical fundamentals, physical expression and emotions.

Humour and group play are used as tools for research and personal expression.

Stilt walking is also the subject of a specific course.

The practice allows you to discover different types of stilts and explore their artistic possibilities.

Physical theatre, dance, acrobatics, juggling and clowning can be integrated into stilt work.

Internships, group training courses and workshops

Regular training is supplemented by intensive internships .

These internships are primarily aimed at young people and adults aged 16 and over.

They allow you to discover a new discipline or perfect a technique over a short period of time.

Tub d'Assaig also offers training courses for groups .

These activities allow established groups to discover one or more circus disciplines.

The content may include juggling, ground acrobatics, aerial acrobatics, object balancing, duo balancing, acrosport and acroyoga.

Clowning, body expression, dance, movement and theatrical improvisation can also be incorporated.

The “Racons de Circ” workshops

The " Racons de Circ " workshops allow people to discover circus arts during events and in public spaces.

Different workshops are spread across several spaces, each accompanied by a specialist facilitator.

  • Participants can experiment with the trapeze, silks, rope or aerial hoop.
  • Juggling can be practiced with different objects such as diabolos, Chinese plates, devil sticks or clubs.
  • The balance workshops allow participants to discover tightrope walking, slacklining, rola-bola, balance ball, stilts and unicycle.
  • Acrobatics can include ground work, parkour, mini-trampoline, partner acrobatics, and acrosport.

This diversity allows Tub d'Assaig to introduce circus arts to people who do not necessarily attend school.

The Family Circus

The Circ en Família continues this desire for openness.

This activity allows people of different ages to practice together.

Children and adults can discover, experiment and play around several circus disciplines.

A space for circus artists

Tub d'Assaig also provides an important space for circus artists .

The association has several spaces dedicated to training, education and creation.

Spaces adapted for creation

The main premises on Sant Leopold Street represent approximately 450 m2 .

  • They are equipped with ceiling and floor anchors allowing the installation of various circus apparatus.
  • The necessary equipment for training and creation is available on site.
  • Since 2020 , the association also has Lab 7.70 , a space of approximately 300 m2 dedicated to creation and artistic residencies.

The whole complex represents approximately 750 m2 dedicated to the circus in Terrassa.

This infrastructure allows Tub d'Assaig to go far beyond the operation of a simple leisure school.

Artists and companies can have access to spaces that allow them to develop new projects.

Residencies promote research and creation .

The close proximity between students, artists and companies helps to create a true circus environment.

Creation and production

Creation has been part of the association's history since its founding.

The artists who are members of Tub d'Assaig develop their own shows and projects.

The association also supports collective productions.

Broadcasting and events

Dissemination is another major focus.

The Terrassa Circ Festival

Since 2009 , Tub d'Assaig has organized the Terrassa Circ Festival .

The festival brings together shows, entertainment, music, artistic presentations, projects in development and open workshops.

  • Its goal is to allow the public to discover the circus in different forms.
  • Residents can attend shows but also try out certain disciplines themselves.
  • The festival also seeks to strengthen the local circus arts scene.
  • It accommodates different aesthetics, from contemporary circus to more traditional forms.

The event is also part of an effort to revitalize the region .

Local associations and stakeholders are involved in various initiatives.

Public participation is an important component of the project.

The Festa Major Circ Gala

Tub d'Assaig also organizes the Gala de Circ de Festa Major de Terrassa .

Created in 2008 , this event has become a regular feature of the city festival.

The association also produces shows adapted to different contexts .

Creations can be developed for popular celebrations, festivals, theatres, associations or events.

This professional activity allows for a constant relationship to be maintained between pedagogy, creation and dissemination.

A school rooted in professional creation

The school's teachers themselves come from different disciplines within the circus and performing arts.

This close connection with professional creation informs the courses offered to students.

An accessible and socio-educational project

The project nevertheless maintains a strong commitment to accessibility .

The training program for children and adolescents is explicitly presented as a leisure alternative and as a socio-educational tool .

Cooperation, respect and community life are among the values passed on.

In adults, the practice also seeks to develop dimensions that go beyond technical learning.

Regular physical activity, self-esteem, concentration and personal achievement are among the stated objectives.

The circus is thus considered simultaneously as an artistic discipline , a physical activity and a tool for personal and collective development .

The 2026-2027 season

The 2026-2027 season continues this approach.

  • The children's groups are organized very precisely by age.
  • Teenagers have access to multidisciplinary groups and opportunities for further study.
  • Adults benefit from a program covering acrobatic disciplines as well as aerial arts, vertical arts, clowning and stilt walking.
  • Intensive courses allow for the complementation of regular learning.
  • Open workshops allow us to reach new audiences.
  • Creative spaces allow artists to pursue their professional work.

A true circus hub in Terrassa

Tub d'Assaig 7.70 thus constitutes a true circus hub in Terrassa.

The association brings together in a single project teaching, training, creation, residencies, production and distribution.

This continuity allows children to discover the circus from the age of 3, teenagers to gradually develop their skills, adults to practice one or more disciplines, and artists to have spaces adapted to their projects.

Through its school, workshops, creative spaces, productions and the Terrassa Circus Festival, Tub d'Assaig actively participates in the development and transmission of circus arts in Catalonia.
